his report from last week

quote:

"Accordingly, I'm publicly terminating the pandemic of speculation surrounding LeBron James' playing plans past this season," Vecsey wrote. "For months, many in the media declared or composed presumption the Lakers would be the beneficiaries of his talents when he became a free agent July 1, 2018. I'm eradicating all conjecture and uncertainty! I'm comfortable now in stating unequivocally, LeBron will leave the Cavaliers a second time and join the Lakers, and return the team to L.A. Lore status."

I gotta admit, I love pulling against LeBron...now I gotta pull for him? Tough dynamic right there

All of this may be true and come to pass...but you do realize that Peter Vecsey has an awful record and is likely 100% full of shite as to knowing anything whatsoever, right?

I think that is more realistic.

IMO Lebron, Wade, Melo and Paul team up somewhere. I don't think they do that if George goes to LA...but then again it's going to take a team like that to beat the Warriors assuming they are healthy. I think he really, really wants to beat them more than anything else.

He's going to be 33 next year, and a 33 with a ton of basketball miles on him. How much time does he really have left as an A+ level player beyond this season? 1 or 2 years? That's why I don't understand this move.

If that happens, the only basketball in the NBA that will matter at all will be in a 380 mile radius

I'd give him about 4 more years. Not saying he will be the best player in the league, but a top 6-7 player in that 4th year if he avoids a major injury like he's been able to do basically his entire career.

I would love to see it just to see the reactions from friends and coworkers. They're all Kobe guys and hate on Lebron.

if lebron is 100% committed to leaving, cavs' best interest is to engage in a trade for Lakers and get value. Also as part of mutual respect between cavs and lebron, honesty and long term vision should in sorts be best interest of both of parting now.
