FTR I'm not giving up on him, but:

Bo Pelini defenses have now allowed:

• Big Ten Record - most individual rushing yards (408, Melvin Gordon)

• SEC Record - most passing yards (623, Mississippi State)

Pelini gave up 500+ yards against Arizona St in his debut as LSU defensive coordinator in 2005.

LSU finished with the 2nd best defense in the SEC that year. They didn't allow 20 points in Week 3-11.

Sounds familiar?

Slowing down elite offenses is not one of his strong suits.

I'm still in awe over the fact he gave up 70 and 63 in one season

Pelini’s first stint with LSU started strong, but by 07, his 3rd year, we weren’t stopping anyone and his defenses were figured out by SEC offenses. That was over a decade ago.

Yeah I don't hold it against him that much, when you're so depleted that you've got to start a recent transfer from Nicholls State at corner and the offense gives you no help you're in trouble. Just funny that he had such dubious records in two conferences

Biggest weakness is in game adjustments.

Wisconsin kept running the same run plays over and over.
MSU kept running the same shallow cross patterns over and over.
Pelini kept watching without any adjustments.

The talent disparity between the two schools is quite significant.

34 points should be enough to beat Miss. St.

Don't act like LSU opened with Bama.

I suspect the 05 team had a better defense

I was at that game though, that was following Will Muschamp and I was glad we won but pissed we didn't have Muschamp anymore and of course that we had Less

I mean O is on record for wanting more sacks and turnovers. Caused 4 turnovers and 5 sacks. One was a pick 6. That ain't too bad. Your shite offense couldn't make them pay.

Yeah 3 pts on the turnovers (aside from the pick 6). Offense couldn't keep the paper thin D off the field

Unless I'm sorely mistaken, he's putting up more talent on his defense even with those guys out than Washington did all those years against Leach. Players need to make plays, but coaches also need to recognize when something obviously isn't working.

At CB, LSU had 5* true freshman Rick's who played pretty well, the rest were inexperienced 3*. Washington has had some really good CBs like Byron Murphy and Kevin King, I'm not sure what their star ratings

Lol. Not even close. When it got down to the nut cutting Aranda made adjustments and came up with the big stops the entire time he was here

Leach still scored lots of points against Pelini defense!

In 2007 we were ranked 3rd nationally and ranked 1st in the SEC in total defense.

People just flat out making shite up and getting upvoted
