The infamous get together with Zimmer

Sorry, if someone is charging at me. I'll do everything to protect myself. Old man or not ..... for ones who think pedro was wrong, please explain to me, what you would have done in that situation??? I'm interested in this

I don’t remember anybody thinking what Pedro did to Don Zimmer was wrong. Most people were just laughing at the absurdity of the situation with a very old man charging at an athlete on the opposing team.

I remember the opposite. I remember a lot of people giving him shite. What else was he supposed to do?

Pedro Martinez was a fricking warrior on the mound. Zimmer should have kept his fat arse on the bench. Pedro could have decked him, but he didn't.

He side stepped Zimmer and pulled him down to the ground. Zimmer's fat arse couldn't get up...so that made it look worse...

What else was he supposed to do? Let the old man hit him and hear about how he got his arse whipped by an old man for the rest of his life? He did exactly what he should have done, put the senile old man on the ground without hurting him intentionally.

They were both warriors. Neither one of them was taller than 5’7” and both played weighing less than 170. Both were gritty and tough old school type guys. Zimmerman did what he thought he had to to do to protect his players and Pedro did what he had to do to get guys off of the plate.

Man those were some fun games and series between those two teams. I hate the Yankees and always root for the Red Sox whenever they play the Yankees, but I still don’t understand why Manny Ramirez charged the mound on the pitch that wasn’t even that close to hitting him. It was just high

Screw Pedro. The Sox were a bunch of dirty, trashy players.

Those were some fund series back then.

Nothing will ever be weirder than Joba Chamberlain randomly always throwing at Kevin Youkillis.

I would love to know what Zimmer and Pedro was both thinking when it happened. I need to hear their inner monologues.
The ole classic “let my friends hold me back” move at the bar. Zimmer never planned on making it that far.
Pedro had to be laughing in a “wtf!?” kind of way on the inside and thinking no way this is happening right now.
If that happened to you in everyday life, imagine trying to explain that to others.
