Why did Bill Belicheck continue to blitz the jags over and over after continuously getting burned by drag routes and man beating concepts. He got so worried about shutting down jacksonville's run game that he would have been better off trying to make the jags outscore the patriots by only running the ball and force bortles to throw into tight zone coverage.I understand the philosophy of "we're going to take away the run game and challenge bortles to stand in preasure and throw against man".... but when bortles is completing dump-off passes for 30 yard gains non stop you are not challenging him to stand in and throw it down field... WTF and no adjustment after half really. I respect bill but this has to be one of his worst defensively called games. Hell the giants held the Jags offense in check last week lol

Bill is getting really stubborn in his old age. See Malcolm Butler

well put, it seems his ego is getting in the way of him making adjustments in big games once the script does not go as planned.

The Giants defense is way better than the patriots, that whole team is fricked because of the O line situation

Jags outtoughed Pats

Is Nantz like Verne Lundquist when it comes to calling Pats games?
Is tough to listen to.

Definitely didn't adjust to stopping the crossing routes.

It was great to watch.

Bill wasn’t the one calling defensive plays. Pats have an inexperienced play caller. Worked wonders last week

yes but bill game plans at half time and they are supposed to adjust their scheme. Play callers just call bills plays at the end of the day

Agree with the OP. The defensive back play in general was weak. Big cushions on 3rd down. Overall a rarely seen sloppy game.

The same guy who just coached his team to back to back SBs winning one of them after making the largest comeback in SB history?
