Jesus this 2nd hr of the show today is hard to watch…

Pat McAfee didn’t know that hurricanes have a storm surge

Thinks a hurricane (100+ miles wide) is the same as a tornado (100’s of feet wide).

Confused as to why a storm surge is different than a tsunami. (Claims the moon/tides can cause a tsunami)

Yikes.. stick to sports guys

It really is amazing how ignorant regions are of other regions.

He's from the Pittsburgh area and played his whole career in Indy. Highly doubt hurricanes were anything he's had to deal with or become familiar with their intricacies. I didn't realize states in the NE used salt trucks in the winter to help road conditions in freezing weather until I was older because in the south we don't really get that.

Though thinking a hurricane is the same size of a tornado is a bit of an oof.

That’s fine, in that case I’d say just maybe do a little research before going on a massive brocast where you plan on talking about hurricanes

That’s an issue with those daily radio shows/pods. Such a desperation for content that EVERYTHING is content. Some things can be left for others to address

I think he just connected that they are both cyclical storms so he put the 2 together. Darius Butler tried to help him by saying hurricanes usually develop multiple tornadoes once they get on land, but I don’t think Pat caught on lol

I don’t blame him for the ignorance, but it’s crazy that nobody in that building knows any better. He still thinks he is “flying in to the middle of a hurricane” for College Gameday in Clemson this weekend. It will be a windy thunderstorm by then.

Hes an idiot and most of the people that listen to his show are too. Its a lower IQ version of Barstool and I don't think Barstool is a particularly high brow form of sports media

McAfee has no idea about alot of things that are basics common sense to virtually anyone with an IQ over 90.

He knows about weed and kicking and soccer... And that's about it.

That’s a stretch. 2 former NFL football players talking about professional sports with multiple guests from the media/current professional athletes is a lot more credible than a bunch of podcasters & degenerate gamblers talking about a sport they’ve never played themselves (barstool).

Barstool has like 10 different podcasts that check all those boxes

Are you trying to make this a PMS vs Barstool thread? Bussin with the boys is the only barstool podcast I know of that has former professional athletes. Compton & Taylor Lewan are probably both dumber than the dumbest guy on Pat McAfee show.

I would never listen to a Barstool show for actual sports content.

Yeah, 10 minutes on wikipedia could have at least pointed him in the right direction

Not at all, I’m just saying there’s not a discernible difference in the two shows, both in the type of guests they get and some of the hosts they have. Both are fine and things people enjoy, but placing one on a pedestal over the other doesn’t make a whole lotta sense

Pretty sure I didn't name a specific barstool show and I'm also pretty sure I implied Barstool was also low IQ

I mean, he’s not from a hurricane heavy region and to my knowledge has never lived in one, at least on the coast. So his ignorance is understandable.

How many TD posters (who have never lived in areas with them) have any sort of in depth knowledge about earthquakes or forest fires by comparison? Probably few. Same difference.

I wouldn't even throw soccer in there. It may only seem like that to people who know 0 about soccer.

The closest I've ever been to a hurricane was having Irene knock over some trees in my neighborhood, but I've been in plenty of earthquakes and dealt with regular wildfires.

I think I know way more about hurricanes because they get national news coverage every August and September for weeks at a time. You have to be completely oblivious to everything around you to be that ignorant.
