I don't know. The Saints are a different beast for primetime games in the dome. I have no idea why it works that way, it just does. They turn into a video game team. Predicting the Saints blowing them out isn't really being a homer, not for a primetime home game.

but it's a complete joke to predict a beatdown at this point
yep, that's why i said in my post that i think the saints will win, but anything could happen. that is, it's not a "sure thing" - the point i was replying to.

They have not looked that bad at protecting Cam Newton all season, just mainly in this game.

FWIW, isn't the New Orleans Saints' offensive line pretty shitty this year? The Carolina Panthers defense, and defensive line, has been playing oustanding, so that will be something to watch.

On the road against good defenses, the Panthers have been anemic on offense. Think games at 49ers and Cardinals. Seattle's defense also thumped the Panthers in Charlotte. The Dome at night against the Saints front 7 will be no pleasure trip.

As for the Saints o-line, they have kept Brees virtually spotless the last three weeks. Despite the Brooks nonsense against the 49ers, Brees was only hit two other times in the game (threw 43 passes).

Brees is 5-0 in Sunday Night Football games at the Dome. Average score of 39-15.

History doesn't lend itself to the Panthers favor.

Saints in Primetime home games in the Brees era:

13-3 record
average score of 35-19.

Tom Brady was 13-4 on MNF games heading into the game against the Panthers
