Packers GM isn’t happy the league didn’t give him say and move Saints/Pack game to GB.

#Packers GM Brian Gutekunst says he was informed this morning Week 1 opener vs. Saints would be played in Jacksonville. "I don't think we had a whole lot of say." Gutekunst says he would have "loved to have it here though. That would've been nice."

I'm sure that extra home game would be nice. And totally fair.

What part of his quote stated this?

ETA: Nevermind, this part

quote:

"I don't think we had a whole lot of say given than it was New Orleans' home game," Gutekunst said. "We would've loved to have it here [at Lambeau Field], though; that would've been nice."

That being said, tough shite, wasn't your home game. I can see wanting a say on a neutral field so you can plan travel/practice

So the Saints lose a home game due to a natural disaster so it should be played at Lambeau?

Saints would have loved to have it NOLA. That would've been nice. Unfortunately neither team gets what they want, and they do what is needed. Dude acts like the Saints have some kind of extra advantage because of this lol

I mean I can see where he is coming from that they should have consulted the personnel from both teams on it before just moving it.

The hosting it at Lambeau comment is just a no shite comment to set the groundwork if another situation like this ever happens.

meh this doesnt annoy me as much as it did reading the thread initially. Think hes just being honest.

just like if someone asked me what i want to do with my day. my boss doesnt ask and I would love to stay at home but neither are going to happen.

I guess I read it differently than the OP. "Isn't happy" implies he's upset, when in reality he just said it would've been nice to have it played in Green Bay instead of one of the loudest stadiums in the NFL (who wouldn't?)

I expect there will be just as many Packer fans as Saints fans there, if not more, so no complaints from me.

A quick look at the league schedule would show that the available stadiums in the "region" are: Dallas, Tampa, Miami and Jacksonville. That's assuming that none of them have events previously scheduled.

Could be Jacksonville is the only of the four where the stadium wasn't already booked

What about his quote makes you think that? He said it would've been nice to play it in Green Bay given it had to move. And it sounds like he was directly asked if he had any say on the matter.

I mean, there are reasons to dislike the guy, but this is not one.

Has nothing to do with him. Put the dark green jerseys on and play ball

Then you are as tone deaf as he is.
