Pretty incredible setup for the SWAC. Getting UCLA and Arizona basketball to actually play games on their campuses is an amazing thing for them

Ah, didn't know that.

At any rate, I think this is a cool thing for all parties involved.

Agree

Good publicity for both schools and I bet ESPN does national coverage for several of the games

It is GREAT for the SWAC schools. It's just vapid pandering for the Pac-12 schools without much actual benefit, if any. The SWAC is annually one of the worst conferences in D-1 basketball (performance wise). Pac-12 teams gain NOTHING by playing them. And it is even worse considering the Pac-12 schools are going to have to make some lengthy travels to needlessly play in the south.

If you are a Pac 12, Big 10, Big 12, ACC, etc program you should never waste your time playing at a SWAC venue. It is all risk (the home team could pull off an upset) with ZERO reward (even with a win your NET rating will likely take a hit because of the SOS hit)

Pack the FG Clark Activity Center. Wonder if they’ll actually draw fans for the game?

Nearly half of top 50 basketball recruits in 2021 are from the South/ Southeast region( Swac territory which ranges from Texas to Florida). Getting an opportunity to visit kids & families in this region can't hurt. Maybe the PAC 12 has also noticed that this territory is fertile ground for Football talent considering 17 out the last 20 NCAA Champs are from here?

Cade Cunningham(Tx) Zion Williamson(S.C), Anthony Edwards( Ga), Collin Sexton ( Ga), De Aaron Fox( La./ Tx), Devin Booker ( Mississippi) & far too many to name here. Why is a trip to one of the most fertile regions in basketball( and football) talent a " waste"?

I doubt there is a stampede of locals to see Standford basketball(Cal ,Utah, etc....) I could definitely see a big draw if a hyped one & done type like Zion Williamson, Lonzo, etc.... are playing.

An actual major basketball program in UCLA will be playing games here

Kobe , Wilt, Kareem, Dr J , Durant, Iverson, etc....all played at an even smaller venue like Rucker. What's up with the elitism?

UCLA gains little by beating up on Chico State, Azusa Pacific, Long Beach , California State , etc....so why not take a trip to the most fertile region of the country & play a school that isn't a serious threat to steal your recruit( like an ACC or SEC school)? Visit & Wine & dine their families for the weekend.
