I assume you're talking about Bam, on paper yeah but Miami has always found a way to do whatever the frick they want. If they can get Giannis they will find a way.

What I read yesterday was that if Bam waited until next year to sign the extension they could add Giannis without making any big changes, but if they sign Bam this year, in order to fit Giannis they would have to gut the entire team essentially, including Herro.
The narrative was that the Bam playoff injury really fricked them because he was less likely to be willing to wait a year on the payday.

If Bam plays like he did last year, they'll have no trouble moving him next summer. A lot of teams have manipulated it so they have max money in 2021.
