Enjoy your slide back to mediocrity, New York.
Just because the QB market keeps going up doesn't mean it's a good idea for teams to keep signing these insane deals. He is nowhere good enough to carry them after the inevitable roster crunch that comes with this signing.

In other words, that trip to the divisional round this year was as good as it'll get for them for the next few years.

This is great news for Joe Burrow and Justin Herbert

The Giants are turning into a poverty franchise and I really hate it.

The terrible Vikings’ pass defense just got him paid

Now they are going to franchise tag Barkley essentially making 2 team killing decisions.

this is the new norm.
people need to start looking at what percent of the cap a QB is and not how much he's getting paid.

So, basically $32M/yr for 4 yrs, not including incentives, which, amazingly, is about the going rate for meddle-tier (at best) QB now.
Also wonder how many yrs are guaranteed or if the team can get out of the deal before 4 yrs.

I really have no clue who this is and what college he played for.

I mean, did they have any other options?

No
Just because the Top 5 QB's get that doesn't mean the rest of the QB's in the league get that, in fact the difference should be increasing as the rate goes up. Guy has averaged 3000 yards a season in 4 years.

They messed up by not picking up his 5th year. It would have given them time to see if last year was an anomaly or a trend.

Drafted in 2019 out of Duke. Know one knew who the frick he was then either. Giants fans booed. Pretty sure they're booing again.
