NY Islanders fans take over singing of the national anthem
Video in link

quote:

Nassau Coliseum was roaring with energy Wednesday night as fans in attendance belted out the National Anthem before the New York Islanders Game 6 victory over the Boston Bruins in a viral moment that is sure to give anyone chills.

quote:

Nicole Raviv regularly sings "The Star-Spangled Banner" before Isles games at the Coliseum but on Wednesday night she was overpowered by the crowd, even turning over the microphone to the fans.

The Nassau Coliseum is one of the last great old school arenas, need to fight like hell to keep it. Anyone know what is the current future of the Islanders playing there?

The Islanders have always been the blue collar New York sports team.

ETA: I remember going to see them one of the few years they played in Brooklyn and I was in the uppers with your more down to earth fans and talking to them. They were disgusted their team had moved to Brooklyn and out of Nassau.

I was at a high school baseball game a couple years ago. The anthem recording screwed up or the speaker stopped, but the sound quit after about 2 lines. Some guy in the fans chimed in about right after it was obvious that there was a failure. Loud and very professional sounding with no mic or anything. frickin' inspirational. I later found out he sang for one of the military branches.

But they’ll still vote for the governor and Xiden!

Check your electoral history. Long Island goes conservative more than NYC.

Nassau is great (I saw about a dozen games there) but a major pro sports team playing there is just not feasible. The new arena is going to be lit af though.
