Seems like an arbitrary standard given the stats that say otherwise

I’ll look at the PFF stats in a bit.

That is comical. Dak is not winning you a SB, move on.

Tom Brady won a super bowl when he threw 1 td the entire playoffs...

You're getting too hung up on stats that don't paint the whole picture.

And Peyton looked horrendous for his last SB, neither of those guys at the time was worth 40 million dollars a year.
Also hilarious hot take that 2001 football is similar to 2020 football.

FWIW
Wentz’ highest PFF grade = 5th
Dak’s highest PFF grade = 15th
Wentz’ highest PFF grade = 5th
Dak’s highest PFF grade = 15th

Dak wants to absorb over 20% of the Cowboys entire salary cap for the next several years.
And there are people in this thread don’t think this is absolutely insane.

Wait....Dak is asking the cowboys for more than 30 mil a year??

There are a couple of different arguments taking place. I don’t think anyone thinks Dak deserves $40M a year.
Wentz recently signed for $33M/year. Some are debating whether Dak is as good as Wentz.
I personally think Wentz > Dak, but Dak’s stats are better than Wentz’s, and he’s much more durable. If Wentz is getting $33M/year, then it’s within the NFL QB market for Dak to get $30M. Crazy, but stats don’t lie.

Time to part ways. I’d trade the chargers for Tyrol Taylor and get about the same production and spend 35 million in the rest of the roster.

Cowboys are gonna pay it because every NFL GM is afraid to be unconventional
Words like “market value” will be thrown around
Then they’ll regret the shite out of it in a year or two

He can want $40 million all he wants, he can ask for it too. He’ll settle for high 30s with a low guarantee or low 30s and a higher guarantee.

If the Cowboys franchise tag Dak. He would make aprox $26 million in 2020 and $31.2 million in 2021 based on salary cap projections.
