Prescott has been a starting QB for 3 years in a league where the average salary for a starting QB is over 20M. He has made around 2M in those 3 years. In my mind, Dallas already owes him over a ton in back pay.

That's incredible

You know what’s funny is it’s mostly Saints fans shutting on Dak, yet he has played significantly better in his first 3 seasons than Drew Brees did.

The downvoted will flow, because Saints fans hate a lot of things, the truth being the biggest of all.

I can promise you, not many Saints fans give a shite about that

Exactly. Why do I care if Drew Brees was pedestrian his first three years as San Diego?

I fail to see the relevance here. Drew's career really took off after coming to the Saints in 06, he was "pretty good" in his last two seasons in San Diego, but I don't think anyone will argue that he was great at the beginning of his career. Are you expecting that Dak will have a similar career arc to Drew? If so, that is hilarious.

Dak played significantly better than Aaron Rodgers in his first 3 years, too.

beta post

Joe Montana, widely considered to be one of the best all time, if not THE best, only threw for more than 30 td's once in his career. Nowadays, 30 is a pretty pedestrian number. Yardage is so inflated as well.

That graphic just shows how much the game has changed over the years, that's it.

So...if teams should be paying guys who outperform their rookie contracts “back pay”, should they also be clawing back money from all of the first round busts?

Don't misunderestimate Jerry's stupidity. He thought he was smarter than Jimmy Johnson.

This isn't news. It's been known for a while that Dak has countered offers to make AT LEAST what Wentz makes. He will not be signed for less than that number. Whether he deserves it or not, you can take that to the bank.

Someone should tell him he's not worth market value.

Dak is somewhere in the 10-15th range of NFL qbs

2 of those qbs are fossils so lets put him at 8-13th

30 mil a year would put Dak at 7th highest paid QB once Mahommes signs

Seems about right

Yeah I agree. The Cowboys should definitely pay him 30 million a year. In fact, I think they should guarantee all of it, make sure they have him locked up.

He's much closer to 15 than 10.

Rookie contracts are prove it deals. He has proved he is good enough to be a starting QB and vastly outperformed his rookie contract. When that happens, there should be some form of pay back for that service. Same thing happened with Russell Wilson. It's a factor..

Not at all

Rodgers
Brady
Brees
Big Ben
Mahommes
Wilson
Ryan

Those are 7 qbs clearly better

Luck
Cam
Rivers

Those are 3 qbs better

Dak is absolutely right there with anyone else you want to include.
