Victim mentality. It's not their fault, it's mine or yours. That's why they can't get ahead...

quote:Well by saying work on its image for opioids, you clarify it. So in that sentence you are calling out white people that are addicted to opioids, not all white people.
Yes? How is that any different from me saying the white community needs to work on its image for opioids?
Are you trying to say that as long as the color of the person is black, I will assume this about them?
You said black community, so anyone black falls under one community by your assertion.
quote:Yet you called out the entire black community. Anyone black falls under that category.
Because that's not true. In fact, I tend to let people's actions decide how I feel about them.
quote:See my first sentence
My co-worker is white but by your assumptions, you would think I immediately think he's suffering from opioid addiction?

quote:So do you think that all black people that identify as such and are supportive of other blacks are all victims or have a victim mentality? Not saying that that is what you were insinuating in your post, but I just want your opinion.

Monty, you’ve made some valid points, but you’re contradicting yourself throughout that post.

People need to quit defining themselves by racial "community," for real.
I think the same thing when Conservative AMERICANS are upset about Non Whites/ Non Christians attempting to emigrate to Europe . Or when they (and their infallible President ) are concerned particularly about a mythical genocide of White South Africans.
There seems to be an evident 'communality' there.

This includes many racial groups. Therefore, your attempted analogy falls flat.

Are you an American citizen? If so, Donald J. Trump is your president, as well.

People of many creeds are concerned about said genocide/genocidal threats in South Africa and many countries.
Again, your attempt at an analogy is found wanting.
Do better.
Be better.

It makes analysis and things about race and political party as opposed to logic and merit i.e. bias, obscures judgment prevents one from seeing the forest through the trees, really simple concept tbh

I’m wearing Nike shoes

You better stand far away from that shoe when it burns. The sweat from 8 year old kids who made those shoes, working 14 hour shifts is very flammable.

Strange decision in my mind but I don’t buy products because of “star” endorsements anyway.
Posted on 9/5/18 at 9:14 pm to Bluedogsu
Their stock share price dropped 3 DOLLARS and hasn't recovered yet, that's called tanking my friend and translates to billions, Nike's big enough to recover in the long run (maybe, since this is Colin Kaepernick after all) but the market's agreeing with me at this point
Posted on 9/5/18 at 9:17 pm to The Egg
Pat Tillman would have been better to use than kaepernick.
Posted on 9/5/18 at 9:18 pm to ThePTExperience1969
Nikes growth market is China/Asia. That doesn't mean the USA is irrelevant, but they have a pretty strong hold here that won't be impacted long term because of this. Nobody over there is one bit concerned about this whole deal.
