TSA says it happens about 17 times a day but considering how many people go through TSA a day that's extremely rare.

You have to be some kind of stupid.
You can't even take a toe nail clipper through TSA.
Even if you have a Concealed Carry license, you can't even go within 500 feet of an airport.

Buddy of mine forgot his handgun was in a bag and as soon as TSA stopped the bag for and extended period of time his face physically changed.
I’d be surprised if this isn’t the same situation.

do people leave guns in their travel bag/back pack? unless you start packing for a trip 3 weeks in advance, how do you forget that a gun is your bags?
