Didn’t Solder have a rough year for the giants last season( could’ve very well just been the line as a whole)? Just seems like guys who leave the patriots never seem to live up to these massive deals.

ETA: at least he’s young.

Schefter just said after that deal and the AB deal, that the Raiders have “two brown players”. That’s one of those things you regret as you’re saying it.

This is another good signing by the Raiders. Improving their o-line and recieving corp will allow them to get the most out of Carr. Plus, they still have 3 first round picks with which to lock in some great defensive talent on rookie deals. Gruden wasn't even trying to hide the fact that last year was a tank/fire sale to set up for the rebuilt.

With good moves, this next season, they could be competitive, a fringe wildcard team. By the following season, they could be the best team in a very competitive division. Most media and pundits only think short term, but Gruden was dealing last year to make long term moves while purging those likely responsible for the current locker room culture. He is making smart long term personnel moves, imo.

You mean throwing away the two high round picks from last years draft?

Yeah it really sures up the OL, allows them to move Miller back to his college position of RT instead of making him switch to LT where he wasn't comfortable because we had no one else.

Fruit for thought.

Bomb

@AdamSchefter: Landon Collins to Washington, per @JosinaAnderson.

@RapSheet: Sources: Former #Giants star S Landon Collins is signing a 6-year deal for a whopping $84M with the rival #Redskins. Hard to imagine a box safety with this kind of deal after last year’s slow safety market. This moves the market dramatically.

A box safety getting that much cash is insane lol.

Triggered he is staying in the east though. Was hoping he’d move out.

The Dan Snyder/Bruce Allen marriage would make for great Hard Knocks television.
