I don’t think you can tell with certainty the ball is on the ground when he says it is

No proof of the ball hitting the ground. The video shows nothing.

Great explanation. The ball obviously is on the ground considering his hands are on either side of the ball (and his left isn't even grasping the ball). It's not hard to see unless you don't want to see it.

You know it’s bad when they trot out Al and he says Roethlisberger completes a pass then loses control
His own explanation is contradictory of himself
Al and the NFLused a horrible angle they needed down the line.

So wait, this is the catch everyone is losing their mind over? He loses the ball after hitting the ground. That's not a catch.

who the frick wants to hear what those cover-up artists running the game into the ground folks have to say?

Are you blind? Definitely hits the ground.
Should be a TD but the rules are written wrong.

The hand placement proves nothing.
The ball still could have spun and never hit the ground even if his right hand wasn’t under it.

The ball is just magically floating a cm above the ground

You ever hear of the Magic Bullet? Yeah it’s not only in Dallas physics does crazy stuff

What a stupid rule. He caught it crossed the goal line. Should be a touchdown.

Why are you acting like the ball was moving for seconds?
All of this happened in about a a tenth of a second. It’s completely possible the ball moved that quickly without landing on the ground.

I don't even know how people can dispute this. The NE hate must be even worse on this forum than I thought.

How the hell did he drop that lol.

I think it probably hit the ground, but you can't assume that and the call on the field has to stand. As I've said in other threads, a ball is almost always spinning a little in a guy's hand when you look at it in slow motion, so every catch is in doubt.

You have to maintain control through the ground.
He did not

My problem is not that it is the Patriots, but how insane the rule is. He obviously caught the ball, otherwise he never would have been able to turn his body and stretch the ball over the goaline.
The fact the ground makes it an incomplete catch is what is so laughable. Ground can't cause a fumble but it can cause an incomplete catch lol.
