That’s a mistake. That’s supposed to be his forte, especially weighing in at 238.

No it's not. The 3 cone drill is more important for Arden Key.

Lorenzo Carter just ran a 4.46. He's a freak.

Incredible time, but he's also almost 25 pounds lighter than Carter.

Yeah but it's not fair because he isn't weighed down by a second hand.

re: NFL Combine
Dorian ODaniel with the fastest 3 cone and 20 yard shuffle... Some say the three cone is a better test of ability than the 40.

Great instincts and athlete... He might have been the best all around player on our team last year.

Edit: His 3 cone time is the best for any LB since 2006.

His play all season showed that he was really quick at recognizing if it was a pass play or hand-off.

Quinn. At best, 6th round to the new England patriots.
Likely, free agent to new England.

Most of these tests are pointless. Can the kid play ball when he's on the field. That's all anyone needs to know.

They can be a bit overstated but I wouldn’t call them pointless. You have to factor in level of competition in college. Tarvarus McFadden looks like a decent college corner. How many NFL level receivers did he face in college, how did he fair against them? He goes and runs a 4.7 and now everyone is popping in the tape again. Can this guy cover Julio Jones or Antonio Brown? The tape tells the tale if these guys are getting consistent 1 v 1 matchups against other future pros. If they aren’t then these tests matter a lot. You have guys who’s tape overcomes bad combines and guys whose good combines are ruined by the tape. They go hand in hand. “Can he play ball” is subjective based on the kids he played against though. And they don’t care if he played against good teams. How did he do against good players. If a kid looks great on tape against bad competition and has a great combine, teams will gamble. It’s about getting all the prospects in a controlled environment and comparing them on equal footing. How good of an athlete are you. You better be an elite football player between the ears if you’re an average athlete to make it in the NFL.

Eh. As long as you hit certain bench marks they are useless, but if you go full Ali Highsmith everyone knows you don't have the athleticism to be an NFL athlete.

The people in the NFL who make the decisions disagree.

They have reasons for every one of them and while some like bench press mean nothing for RB, it's vitally important for DL.

Yea but more important for DTs than DE's who have long arms and therefore benching is more difficult. More important for Guards and centers than OTs as well.
