Nearly 10% of the NBA currently has Covid-19

The article compared it to the national positivity rate, but that’s incredibly misleading since the NBA is testing everyone, unlike the national numbers.
So somewhere around 17-20% of the NBA has tested positive the two times they were outside of the bubble. That’s insane. Imagine if 10% of the US was positive at any given time. Wouldn’t be surprised if almost half the league has already had it by now.

The NBA and the National Basketball Players Association jointly announced Wednesday night that there were 48 positive tests for COVID-19 out of the 546 players tested from Nov. 24-30. This was the initial round of tests for players as they returned to their teams' markets ahead of the start of individual workouts Tuesday. The regular season is scheduled to start Dec. 22.

While the league's positive test rate of 8.8% in its initial testing is lower than the national average of 10.2% over the same time frame, it also is significantly higher than the 5.3% rate (16 out of 302) during the same return-to-market period in late June before play at the bubble in Orlando, Florida. In total, 46 players tested positive for the coronavirus in the weeks leading up to and upon initially arriving at the bubble. After the bubble was formed, the league had no positive tests through the end of the season in mid-October.

I hope someone started building the mass grave sites we are going to need.

Makes you wonder what the rate of background infection really is. Either that or NBA players are going out of their way to catch covid.
Of all the players in all the major sports, we've has barely a handful not have a normal recovery from what I gather.
Sports should just continue on like normal, these dudes are much more likely to suffer long term injuries playing the games but we keep on playing.

Will that penis-head-looking commissioner be ordering the morgue refrigerator trucks soon?

"The thing I don't like about the NBA now is all these love-fests...hugging and chest bumping your opponents. You're there to win not be best friends with the other team." - Larry Bird
NBA is a very handsy, huggy league...it makes sense they're passing it around like Gonorrhea.

Assuming you haven’t clutched pearls and hidden in a closet the past 9 months, You have likely been exposed to covid-19. You either got it, or have the the memory cell immunity to where you won’t get it
