Figured someone would have created an official thread for the series by now. Ws/Cs isn't the best matchup we could have gotten, but I suppose it's not the worst either.

Between the Warriors experience of playing in 6 of the last 8 Finals and knowing their championship window is more closed than open, I don't see how they don't win in 5 or 6 games.

Series feels like it needs some juice. This is gotta be Curry's best chance to win a Finals MVP, and at the same time I don't think there's anyone on the Celtics roster that's ever played in an NBA Finals.

Is there anyone pulling for Horford to go 1/1 in the Finals and riding off into the sunset?

Van gundy - out COVID protocol
Mike breen - out COVID protocol / hoping to clear
WOJ - out COVID protocol

I am going w GSW in 7 only because of experience. but BOS will whip them a few times that is for sure. If you look at the paths to the finals, GSW has been as easy as I can remember thru the west. If you rank the teams that each of the finalist have played in the playoffs 1-6, you could rank the 3 east teams 1-3 and the west teams 4-6 and not get much argument.

Watching these playoffs unfold, this wasn’t the matchup I wanted initially but I think it’s a sleeper to be a really good series.

Celtics will be good any have more chances, but this time I think the Warriors championship experience and drive to get back to that level post Durant is the story. Plus Steph finally gets his Finals MVP.

Interesting point I hadn't thought about yet. I recall people making a similar argument against the 2015 Warriors team bc the starting point guards for the opposing teams never played due to injury.

Nonetheless they still won the title in 6 games with very few, if any at all, players having Finals experience at the time.

2015 warriors were imo clearly the leagues beat team that year from start to finish. These warriors are definitely not as good as any of the previous GSW finalists mostly due to the decline in Klay and Steph. they just aren’t what they used to be.

I think the Grizzlies are better than the Nets, but no argument that the Mavs and Nuggets were the two worst teams that either Finalist played during these playoffs.

My gut is telling me that the Celtics don't have the firepower to compete with the Warriors in a 7 game series. Both teams are great defensive teams, but GSW clearly has the offensive edge. Warriors in 7.

I'm surprised Boston's odds for winning the series are as close to even as they are.

Boston in 6. They come out and steal game 1, too. The line opening up at 3 is saying this is a coin flip and giving the Warriors the standard allotment for home court. The Finals experience factor is being way overblown.
