NASCAR purposely didn't tell the status of Ryan Newman's injuries to draw more publicity

There's no other explanation. If this guy is smiling and walking on his own 36 hours after a wreck, there's no serious injury to delay telling the public for more than 2 hours. The whole thing is fishy. I believe they wanted to bring more focus to the sport in the first race of the year. All the news networks covered it and it probably felt like a publicity win for NASCAR.

Here we go with this shite again
YOU ARE NOT PRIVY TO PERSONAL MEDICAL INFORMATION NO MATTER WHO IT IS OR WHAT ORGANIZATION THEY WORK/PLAY/DRIVE FOR

It's the most publicity NASCAR will get all season unless someone actually dies on the track, and even then it might not register as much because it wouldn't be the last lap of the biggest race of the year.
Something definitely doesn't add up, though. Everyone assumed he was in critical condition, struggling to survive. I do agree it doesn't make any sense for him to be walking out of a hospital two days later.

Nobody said anything about being "privy" to the info, but I think the OP feels the same way I do. It was not handled in the way they have typically handled it in the past. I'm not saying they did anything wrong, just pointing out a change in the way it was handled.

Imagine caring about this

I think you do have a valid point. People bet on NASCAR and like the NFL and NBA medical and injury reports are vital for a sport that people bet on.
NASCAR should have been more forthcoming. I am glad he walked out of the hospital.
The whole incident from right after the wreck to him walking out seemed very, very WWE.

Why would NASCAR report on someones injuries if that person doesn't want it released? This shite really isn't complicated, you just want it to be

Do you think there were people out there waiting on an injury report to hammer Ryan Newman odds to win this week or something?

Hey stupid. Telling me the guy is alert is not letting me know his injuries.

There is another explanation that I meantioned in another thread. That isn't the real Ryan Newman. Could you imagine in this era of reduced violence in sports and focus on head trauma a driver dying on primetime tv?
It's not just me, I'm seeing it all over the internet. I'm not even fully bought in yet. They say they knew right away but didn't announce anything so they could start looking for a replacement. The update about expected to live but serious condition was to buy time in case they had to do cosmetic surgery or something on the guy they found. Looks like that wasn't necessary or at the least it was very minor if needed.

If it's coming from the hospital it is.

Welp... It looks like I spoke too early about something being the stupidest thing I'd read on the internet today.

So his daughters don't know it's not their real dad?

your right, it must be a part of some bigger cover up to pump up ratings. It makes much more sense than the family just wanting some privacy

ya'll are going to have a long day if you take anything Oysterpoboy posts seriously FWIW

It goes against every wreck that NASCAR has covered. The only time they don't mention their health status while at the track is if they're dead.

This could easily be done with actors and or with CGI. Very easily done.
