I've had a lot of respect for Bennett since he played Arizona at WSU. He seems like a classy guy and genuine about his faith and family.
I think you guys were closer to the 1 seed last year, but Hunter got hurt, UMBC got hot and things snowballed. What struck me as the biggest difference was that UVA never quit or panicked this year. They learned that lesson.
Congratulations on the W.

That was quite a wait for a bump...but I have to say that in this case, well worth it.

I do respect the hell out of Tony Bennett.

Not a single 5* on the roster.
Contrast that with Duke who has had 15 5* over the past 4 years.

This might be the greatest bump ever on TD

Amazing job by UVA. I am not a Hoos fan, like a good Marylander with a brother who want to Virginia Tech, but I am genuinely happy for UVA fans. They owned the loss, and then shoved it in everyone's face. Fair play. Well done.

Oh what the frick.
I don't remember this.

What a turnaround for UVA. The worst kind of loss possible, and the very next year UVA turns it into something they can all laugh about.

Wahoowa baby.
I read the in-game thread this morning, hoping to see people comment rationally about how great of a championship game that was, from both sides. Instead, just a bunch of OT-level responses about how the game was cooked and UVA was the benefit of some grand conspiracy. Just let that sink in. UVA. Benefit. Conspiracy. You can tell these are a bunch of SEC fans that don't have to play Duke every year.
Could not be prouder of our guys and Tony. So happy Hunter had a good night when all of the national pundits were saying "he doesn't have that dog in him" after 3 off games. Hate to see him go, but if you're going to go, go out with a bang and make yourself some money doing it.
We probably lose Jerome this year too, and I'm OK with that. Kyle Guy may be the soul of the team, but Jerome is the moxy. He probably can't raise his stock any higher, so it's time to go. I'm thankful for the passion he plays with, that he's never met a 3 he didn't like, and that he legitimately never believes he commits a foul.
Next year should be a bit of a rebuild, but I think we'll be right back in the thick of things. Guy should return, Diakite poised for a breakout senior season, plus Key, Clark, and Huff rounding out the starting 5.
Great season, and, once again, Wahoowa!!

Congrats on needing shitty reffing to beat a team without it's best player in the Final 4.

No, if we played you ten times, we’d win nine of them.
Look at the stat line and your shooting percentage. It’s not good.

I thought either Kyle Guy or Jerome was a 5 star. Could be wrong though...
Either way. I love Tony Bennett. He is a fantastic coach.
However, I do believe the narrative that his style couldn't win in March was sort of true, but only at the beginning of his tenure.
That has been long gone if you've seen UVA play the past few seasons. I believe Bennett was hiding the deficiencies of his earlier teams but the players he's gotten lately are much better offensively. They can slow the tempo or run and score as evidenced last night. A well-deserved title.

lol, if we had Chuma you would have lost by 15. We played like crap for 35 minutes and still beat you playing under actual basketball rules.
Congrats on your title honestly but deep down you know you shouldn't have been there, just like the rest of the country knows it.

4* on 24/7. Same with Hunter (all in the same 2016 recruiting class).
I wasn't trying to knock Duke either, just using them as an example.

Kyle Guy wasn’t a 5 star but he was a McDonald’s all American
