I've been saying it for almost a year now, people only want to hear information that confirms their own inherent bias.

I think more people would rather hear nothing of politics mixed in with their sports.

9/25/17 will forever be remembered as the day Ruston began the destruction of the ESPN empire.

rumblings of Bunkie joining this revolution soon

Then call me when 1000 Rustons drop ESPN

As long as Dallas, Chicago, LA, etc don't, they'll be fine.

This thread really struck a nerve with the resident MSB liberals.

but I'd be surprised if they're the only ones.

you think radio stations in very small markets are lining up to lose all of the production and probably financial help they get from ESPN?

They don't like being proven wrong. "People aren't leaving ESPN bc of politcis." Provide an example and it turns into "lol who cares about that 1 radio station?"

You're right man, Ruston is starting the revolution with all 500 listeners ESPN just lost.

Maybe so, but we're past the tipping point IMO.

If you want to make a successful sports show, you don't take the neutral approach, you take the opposite approach. Like someone else mentioned in another thread, Fox News was successful because of its conservative bias, not because it had no bias at all.

Again, link?

This could just as easily be more of ESPN's cost cutting. They've fired a ton of radio people the last several years.

Yep. Speaking of radio Eric Dickerson went off on Donald Trump today on AM570. Called him an embarrassment to America then seemingly crossed the line by comparing him to Kim jong il and implied that Trump would have his political opponents killed if he thought he could get away with it. I was like damn.

As I was smoking brisket yesterday and listening to Merle Haggard, I told my brother how I'm pretty sure people on TD.com think I'm a liberal. I get a kick out of that notion. I've never voted Dem in my life.

But if this is everyone's mindset, we're doomed to this shite. I want to be able to watch sports coverage, but I'm over this shite. I watch LSU games, and that's basically it now.

The national shows are all garbage now, all talking about a bunch of shite I don't care to hear about. I know I'm not alone, but it will take the media making a decision to get away from it to happen. So I'm not holding my breath.
