My boss was a sportscaster for the Lakers while Kobe was there

I talked to him about it a few months ago. He worked as a young interviewer for Sportsnet LA during the days of Kobe and Shaq. He said Shaq was a jerk. But he said Kobe was a really nice guy and very genuine and treated him with lots of respect even though my boss was only in his 20s and very inexperienced. Sad to see a guy like Kobe go that young. He had a great love for the game and life in general.

Thanks for sharing. I always preferred Kob to shaq myself. Shaq was too sensitive Kob was a dog.

Shaq start every season out of shape. Kobe never out of shape. Kobe was too competitive to be like shaq.

He was a dog for sure. Highest compliment from me.

Yep kob woulda never made a super team. Too much dog in him. Cut from the same cloth as mike and a couple others.

Thanks for sharing. I guess the moral of your story is it should have been Shaq today, right?

you know, i really didn't like Kobe, when he was playing, because he seemed just very selfish, and then the whole Colorado thing tarnished his image even more, in my mind...
however, he had, at least IMO, totally resurrected that over the course of the end of his career and post career... i started to see him as the man he had become, rather than the sum of the mistakes and actions he had during his career... he had become a great father, husband, community leader, and overall human being... and
THAT is what will be truly missed and why i've been emotional, over a player i didn't even like, all day today....
no matter what you may have thought about the person he was at the time during his career, its hard to argue about the man he became at the end and after it.... RIP kobe and gianna... man, i feel so terrible for the family he's left behind, as well as all the other victims of this terrible tragedy...

You have to be absolutely insane to somehow come to that conclusion. You’re a fricking moron!

I’m sorry this flew over your head. The OP felt the need to both memorialize Kobe and trash Shaq at once....as if there was a fanboy agenda. Try to keep up with the adults.

Bravo Zulu to poster chRxis.
WELL SAID.

i'm sure you are feeling much the same as i am today... i know i made sure to hug and kiss my daughter a little more today than normal...

Kobe was the only player that I ever saw that had the MJ DNA. No excuses, just psychotic about winning.

Did the same with my son. And my daughter is due in June and I'm already emotionally fragile about that whole deal
Life is short. Trying to learn to cherish it more now when I'm younger rather than growing old and regretting not doing it more.
