Men’s tourney has to be played to pay your multi million salary
Are you willing to forego your salary?
Men’s basketball and football fund your sport and your salary

Her team doesn’t have to play. She doesn’t have to coach.
So sick of people like her.

It's called the almighty dollar," Mulkey said after the Lady Bears lost 75-71 to Iowa State in Waco, Texas, ending the longest current home-court winning streak in Division I women's basketball at 61 games. "The NCAA has to have the almighty dollar from the men's tournament. The almighty dollar is more important than the health and welfare of me, the players or anybody else.

I've had it -- come talk to me sometime. But I don't know ... all the calls and procedures, that's gonna go on and make it unusual, uncomfortable for every program. We're no different at Baylor."
Mulkey contracted COVID-19 on Christmas Day after contact with a family member who tested positive. She missed No. 6 Baylor's most recent game, Jan. 2 at TCU, then rejoined the team for practice Jan. 4 after multiple negative tests.

Is she saying her girls don’t want to play? They are having a season because the kids want to play. The NCAA granted a waiver to anyone too scared to play. Why shouldn’t they play? Where are the mass deaths of college athletes due to playing athletics in 2020-21? At the very least we have had mass hospitalizations of the college athletes, right?
No? I guess not.

The one thing she is right about is the one conference does one thing and another conference does another. That was the infuriating thing about football season. The NCAA, if it wasn’t such a clusterfrick, should have come out with guidelines and procedures so all conferences and schools could be on the same page

Funny these coaches always make these comments after their team gets its arse kicked. See Coach K. Everything is hunky dory until they start sucking.

quote:Agreed, so tired of this false narrative. Again, you think if these athletes were not in these Covid protocols with constant testing and medical supervision that they'd be quarantining in their parents basement and at no risk to anyone? It's preposterous, sanctimonious and self-serving, optics based drivel.

quote:So her catching Covid had absolutely nothing to do with whether the NCAA season was being played or not. I’m not seeing her angle here. If she felt that uncomfortable coaching right now, I’m pretty sure she has enough pull where Baylor would let her take the season off and come back next season. Let an assistant take over for the rest of the season, but then she probably doesn’t want to forego her $2M salary to opt out

Mulkey=Coach K
That fricking dumb woman should've beat almighty Iowa State and then she wouldn't feel the same way.
Surprised we haven't heard the same loser, trash speech from Calipari yet.

Me neither, really. Unless she’s being really cynical and including herself in pull of the power of the almighty dollar. Like, she’s had it—she knows it sucks—but even she can’t just walk away from $2.5 million (“the almighty dollar). The only context I have is what was quoted, but I don’t think her stance is very clear from just that. Is she being a hypocrite or just brutally honest about the money being too good for everybody—save the players, who aren’t really vulnerable—to not assume whatever risk their particular demographic is in?
I don’t think it’s a great look to be saying this right after getting their asses kicked. Unless they had a few key players out with it and was asked about it post-game.

Have the players and coaches vote if they should cancel the season. She would be shocked at the results.
quote:
I have it right now. I've had colds that were worse.
And some people have died. Some had no symptoms at all. Others got really sick, but recovered. Saying “I’ve had colds that were worse” as if that’s representative of everybody’s experience is intellectually dishonest. Unless you are actually stupid enough to believe that since you’ve had colds that were worse that that means others can’t have vastly different experiences than you. If we are gonna criticize these people—and there are certainly some that deserve it—we can’t fall into becoming the very intellectually dishonest hypocrites that we are criticizing.

Wrong, it is simply stating a fact. I'm sorry facts trigger you. Grow up.
