Kind of insane how the last 3 coaches at LSU have a national title on the wall. When O is forced to retire in 5 years, the next guy up is just about guaranteed to win a title.

The split life insurance policy then certainly makes sense as it avoids some taxes now and down the road.

Has any school other than Miami or LSU ever had three consecutive coaches win a Natty?

yep. he would coach for free. its all about the kids and job security and his agent in this contract. he gave a hometown discount compared to the 9+ million most coaching hires like Jimbo,Tom Herman, and Saban are getting

kill yourself. Coach O is the opposite of Les. did you watch a single game the past 2 years? Les wouldve been trying to tell our offense we had a good lead and overruling playcalls to run toss dive

There was an angry guy yesterday saying Coach O needs to get ahold of the program after we lost Munoz.

He peaked. He will hit a 10 win ceiling starting this year.

Les Miles 2.0.

Don’t necessarily disagree with this extension. will probably be an outdated contract salary in a couple of years when the top HCs’ contracts are up, but the entire point of Coach O’s HC tenure and the compensation he received was to ensure we could hire top assistants unless Woody just has money out the wazoo to spend like it’s no tomorrow.

i'll agree that he peaked this year...it's a damn national title.

that team will never be matched, so yeah, of course it's a peak point

yeah this is the thing

i think everyone agrees he's not earned the Dabo/Saban level (Harbaugh is up there too but we all also agree that's bad)

his new deal is in that next tier, but the whole pitch was to come in under his market value. maybe with 2019 the checkbooks are open. if so, then it's fine. if we're just re-routing Aranda's salary to O and won't use that for an Aranda-level DC?

His salary is 5th highest. If LSU is top program, shouldn’t they be expected to shell out at least top 5 money?

He's increased his win total every year he's been the head coach at LSU.

O's sales pitch is literally that he'll take below market salary to increase money for his assistants/recruiting

Looks like your Anti-O again. You had said if he won SECCG and NC you’d be on board
