So 40-50% of lineman should just not play this year? If y’all are saying this kid wasn’t healthy then y’all have some hard truths to come to terms with...

Not really any hard truths to deal with. All players have the option to not play and still get their full scholly. If they don’t want to play then don’t.

Now where is the hard truth?

So you would be cool with freshman year Deculus being hospitalized?

Nice strawman

If this happened his freshman year, he would have the opportunity to not play and still get full scholly. No problems

There is no way a training staff at power 5 school is letting players share water bottles.

Im not one to tell people what to do with their personal lives and decisions, that’s for liberals

I think they should make their own personal decision

Straw man? LOFL. This Indiana kid is I’m sure comparable in his physique to many, many college football players. Should they all sit out?

You are the one who compared a Freshman to one of the best Offensive Linemen in the country. GTFO

Why do you hate the idea of people being in control of their own lives?

Im sorry? I pointed out how this freshman is not the ideal size for an offensive lineman like somewhat stated, so I compared him to someone that was

None of us are perfectly healthy. We all have some sort of underlying condition if you look hard enough.

Strange how you don’t want people to be able to simply decide whether or not they want to play football

I’m not saying that. Different conversation... I’m saying that by your (this board) criteria, there are many, many players at risk and you seem to want to avoid that truth.

Moving the goalposts. It used to be “well they’re young so they have LiKe No cHaNCe” to have serious problems. Now that we know that’s not true it’s a whole new list of excuses.

And yea dipstick, I am fricking angry. And you should be too. Think for one GD minute of your life.

For this disease, he and others like him aren't healthy. This attacks those that are: heavily overweight, have diabetes, have chronic lung issues (asthma, COPD), and the elderly.

Incorrect

Even while being overweight, at their age, the risk is still extremely small. And that isn’t an opinion, there has only been 150 deaths in the entire US for college aged students, which is less than the flu btw. Think just how astronomically small that number is.

But even saying that, the players should have a choice to make their own decision

Their relative risk is still statistically Zero. It isn’t absolutely zero, but from a measured statistical standpoint it is

Be honest. This kid doesn’t have the physique of most CFB players. It’s hard for a school like IU to pull in a 325 lb. true freshmen.

He is carrying a lot more fat than muscle compared to most other college linemen. He hasn’t been in a nutrition or weight program yet. He’s going to be at a much higher risk than most other CFB players.

Sounds like ole boy had some underlying conditions before he ever caught covid.
Indiana football team website lists him at 325 lbs. Covid doesn't like fatties. Linemen on both sides of the ball have more reason for concern than any of their teammates or athletes in other sports.

The dude plays for Indiana. While they aren’t a huge team, they are D1 and made a bowl game. If they are recruiting this dude then others are too and their are many players that share his physique. Tell that to Tyler Shelvin or IKA at LSU. Yea they are probably “in shape” for 350 pounds but...

I think it’s a problem that people are constantly presented with new evidence and decide to ignore it based on their personal feelings.

And that has what to do with him having the option not to play? Did I go and arrest him for not playing? Did I take away his scholly?

You seem heavily intoxicated
