What about Dallas? The Stars had a nice little run this year but that is about it.

I’m 34 years old. In my lifetime, the Stars are 1/2 in Cup Finals, Cowboys are 3/3 in the SB, Mavs are 1/2 in the NBA Finals, and Rangers are 0/2 in the WS.

That’s pretty damn good if you ask me.

Dude frick that. It’s actually a great sports city for College football, and we are lucky to have the Jags. It could be wayyyy worse. I’ve imagined the London Jaguars, and makes me think about suicide.

If you take the cities mentioned in this thread, take the number of titles won in that town and divide that by pro seasons played in said city, you will get a championship winning percentage. Here’s what I come up with.

SAN DIEGO
Chargers 1 championship**/56 seasons
Padres 0/52
Rockets/Clippers 0/10
TOTAL: 0/118 = 0%

Note: it’s 0 for 118 because I don’t think anybody will count the AFL title. SD also had the Conquistadores, Sails, and Mariners of the ABA and WHA. They combined to go 0/7.

BUFFALO
Bills 2**/60
Sabres 0/50
Braves 0/8
TOTAL: 0/118 = 0%

Note: Bills won 2 AFL titles

ATLANTA
Braves 1/55
Falcons 0/54
Hawks 0/52
Flames/Thrashers 0/19
TOTAL: 1/180 = .56%

PHOENIX
Suns 0/52
Cardinals 0/33
Coyotes 0/24
Diamondbacks 1/22
TOTAL: 1/131 = .76%

Note: Phoenix Roadrunners played three seasons in the WHA and were also pretty shitty.

MINNEAPOLIS
Twins 2/60
Vikings 0/59
Stars/Wild 0/46
TWolves 0/31
TOTAL: 2/196 = 1.02%

Note: Mpls also gave us the great Minnesota Fighting Saints and the Minnesota Muskies of the WHA and ABA. They were 0/6.

CLEVELAND
Indians 2/120
Browns 8*/72
Cavs 1/50
Barons 0/2
TOTAL: 3/244 = 1.23%

Note: Browns won 4 AAFC Titles and 4 NFL Titles pre-merger. Personally, those should count as much as any World Series win from the 60’s and prior, but whatever. Cleveland Crusaders played WHA for 4 years and didn’t win anything.

CHARLOTTE
Bobcats/Hornets 0/30
Panthers 0/25
Hurricanes 1/23
TOTAL: 1/78 = 1.28%

Note: I’m too lazy to look up the Carolina Cougars of the ABA. They may not have even played in Charlotte, who knows.

NEW ORLEANS
Saints 1/53
Hornets/Pelicans 0/18
TOTAL: 1/71 = 1.41%

SEATTLE
Pilots/Mariners 0/45
Seahawks 1/44
Sonics 1/41
TOTAL: 2/130 = 1.54%

Note: the Seattle Metropolitans won the 1917 Stanley Cup but were not members of the NHL.

HOUSTON
Astros 1/59
Oilers/Texans 2*/55
Rockets 2/49
TOTAL: 3/163 = 1.54%

Note: Oilers won 2 AFL titles. Why Houston doesn’t have a NHL franchise is beyond me, but the Aeros won 2 Avco Cups of the WHA.

Get ready, because you shouldn't trust the NFL.

I know you mentioned cities, but we ought to throw in the whole state of New Jersey. Rutgers, the NJ Devils, the Jets and Giants all suck major arse. Plus the Nets moved out of that state long ago. Maybe you could say Newark, NJ is a miserable sports city.

I know your criteria said football, basketball and baseball teams, but here are some others.

Other mentions:

Memphis, Nashville and possibly the whole state of Tennessee. Lots of losing or choking in the spotlight going on here

Phoenix. Depressing sports city. The AZ colleges never win anything either.

Charlotte. Panthers are nothing (lost the SB twice this century iirc) and the Hornets are a joke. Flippin' Raleigh's Carolina Hurricanes have a more recent title (Cup in '06, I think). Sad, Charlotte!

Minneapolis. They have all 4 teams. Last title belongs to the Twins in '91. Yikes.

Lucky to have the Jags but we always lose in big opportunities. And that London BS is all fake news from the Liberal media. They’re sick of having a MAGA city have a NFL franchise

1. Portland - riots and property destruction;

1a. Seattle - riots and property destruction;

1b. Minneapolis- riots and property destruction.

That will go down as the biggest choke in sports history. It will never be matched. Not even by Yankees-Red Sox in 04.

Yea I’m a Panthers fan too and I have to disagree
Being down 0-3 and coming back is a bigger choke

But if you are an adult fan, you’ve seen a couple Giants SB victories and a Devils Cup or 2 depending on your age. That’s not a bad take.

While they suck now, I can’t imagine the Giants staying down for very long.

Cleveland because they actually care about their teams. Atlanta is transplants and college football.

Cleveland. Regardless of how good your team is, you still live in Cleveland.

This is the biggest for me
Charlotte doesn’t win much. But we generally don’t give a shite about the Panthers or Hornets. frick in NC one year half the state became Seahawks fans because Russell Wilson went to NC State

Cleveland because all of the notable loses have been in an excruciating fashion.

The Drive/Fumble

The Shot

The Indians losing two different World Series Game 7's in extra innings.

I know before the Panthers existed, people in South Carolina that were NFL fans either pulled for the Steelers, Redskins, Dolphins, or Cowboys. Even today, you will see more fans of those teams compared to Panther fans.
