Best nugget though, actually wasn't packers related. Apparently Gruden told Rodgers to his face Tampa was drafting him in the top 5, then they proceeded to pick Cadillac Williams instead.

I’m not buying this. Gruden fell in love with Carnell at the senior bowl. Even held him out of most of the game to protect him. It was apparent to everyone paying attention that Gruden wanted Carnell.

Lonathan Oscarson echoed this as well

Think the OP pulled it from Hiroshi Wessels blog.

The thing is Aaron Rodgers isnt really that good. He has been the main beneficiary of all the rule changes over the past decade or so, which have allowed limited talents like him to look better than they really are He would be a servicable backup at best if he played in the 90s

Lol wut? There's no way you believe that.

Also, teams value QBs a lot more now due to all the rule changes that have opened up the passing game. It's what has led to so many QBs being drafted so high when they're undeserving of being top 2 round draft picks.

Look at the class this year. The fact some people have 3, possibly even 4 QBs being drafted in the first round this year is a joke.

Was Rogers the QB when California was #2 and he failed clock management in an aggravating last play loss?

No. The highest Cal ever got when Rodgers was QB was #4 and he left after his junior year in 2004.

2007 is when they got to #2 Nate Longshore was the QB but he got hurt and a freshman replaced him in the game they lost to Oregon State.
