It also is a factor when the best of the best can have nights where they go 0-4 or 0-5.

That doesn’t happen in other sports for the most part.

The best players in the league can have nights where they don’t do anything offensively.

But how can this be? I thought only "old white people" cared about MLB anymore?

Is this relative to inflation? 9.5 Billion two years ago is roughly the same as 10 billion now, or at least I would guess so

MLB is on fire right now!!! We discussed this in the threads during the Astros championship run, but its worth saying again, there are so many elite young players in the game right now. Its unprecedented!! The top teams in MLB are stocked with great young talent. There could be some epic post seasons to come and possibly even dynasties in the making. The Astros, Indians, Cubs, Yankees, Dodgers, Nationals and Red Sox are loaded. We could see those teams in the postseason for quite a while. I will be interested to see what happens with the Giancarlo Stanton situation. If he lands on any of those teams, the postseason would be must see TV. MLB is and always will be America's favorite pastime!!

When being 1/3 can make you one of the highest paid players in all of sports.

Well name a sport that is better?

The 3rd highest paid player in the NBA this year has only 4 All-Star games, the 8th highest paid player has never been on an All-Star or All-NBA team, same could be said for any sport where the majority of the players are overpaid.

Baseball is America's game.

Frankly, I would prefer if it wasn't based around personalities - that's where all the trouble begins. Keep the game above the players.

I wonder if part of baseball’s issue with not marketing the young stars is because many of them barely speak English.

They still haven’t figured out a viable and effective way to market their young stars though.

I think it's also bc the athletes in baseball overall aren't as big of egomaniacs as what you see in the NFL and NBA. Not saying they don't have some, but overall, it's a more humble group than what the NFL and NBA have.

Maybe baseball believes in the old adage - children should be seen and not heard.
