Worth noting: Amidst speculation that this could push the Sox to trade Mookie Betts, while they’ll surely at least examine the market for Betts, they’ll just as surely do the same with Martinez.

I mean they can still trade Martinez. I’d have to think he’s the top candidate if they’re trying to cut money

people seem to be acting like texas might try to get either sale or price as well

Who is going to take him? He is a DH at this point and looking at contending teams no one needs him, even if Boston ate a part of his salary.
The White Sox or Rangers would be the only two I could think but both are still a year or two away from contending.

and if you were going to kick the tires on possibly spending around 20 million on a DH, might as well just sign encarnacion

and JD might frick around with his no trade list as well. doubt he would want to play for the white sox or the rangers

EE will probably be on those Cruz level deals as well 15 million

quote:
. Zack Wheeler (RHP, Age: 29): Kudos to him for enduring great expectations, major injury setbacks and Mets organizational chaos. Now comes the reward. Prediction: New York Yankees, four years, $85 million.
quote:
8. Jake Odorizzi (RHP, Age: 29): The most unheralded pitcher of this top tier should get rewarded for his consistency. Prediction: Houston Astros, four years, $66 million.
quote:
. Madison Bumgarner (LHP, Age: 30): With the October legend’s original team planning for the next big run, it’s time for the North Carolinian to go home (or as close to home as possible). Prediction: Atlanta Braves, three years, $60 million.
quote:
15. Mike Moustakas (3B-2B, Age: 31): This marks his third straight foray into the open market, which has not been kind to him. Here’s betting on a little more kindness this time. Prediction: Los Angeles Angels, two years, $25 million.
16. Didi Gregorius (SS, Age: 29): If anyone on this list needs a 2020 pillow contract to rebuild his brand, it’s Gregorius, who just wasn’t the same after returning from Tommy John surgery. Prediction: New York Yankees, one year, $12 million.
quote:
21. Dellin Betances (RHP, Age: 31): That he appeared to straighten out his arm before his lower half gave out last September should help the drafted-and-developed Yankee. Prediction: Los Angeles Dodgers, two years, $20 million.
quote:
. Will Harris (RHP, Age: 35): If only the World Series had ended in five games, the 35-year-old would be sitting on top of the world. He’ll still do fine. Prediction: Philadelphia Phillies, two years, $18 million.

Got a link to that? Just enjoy looking at all FA predictions even though it means nothing
Odorizzi would be amazing for Houston to get

Feel for red sox fans. I'd be livid if I went through this

Jon Heyman really doesn't like that Kurt Suzki wore a magma hat today at the White House
Posted on 11/4/19 at 8:03 pm to tduecen
Heyman gets triggered by anything Trump. Guy is a bitch.

Been an entertaining day reading all of them

That's gonna be a yes for me dawg.
Bummed to lose Harris but I can't see us giving him 9M per, if he gets that much.

quote:
. Hyun-Jin Ryu – Rangers. Three years, $54MM. Ryu’s results the last two years are hard to beat. He won the NL ERA crown with a 2.32 mark this year after posting a 1.97 ERA in 15 starts in 2018.
quote:
12. Didi Gregorius – Reds. Three years, $42MM. A Curacao native who was born in Amsterdam, Gregorius was a rising shortstop prospect with a rocket arm and below average power when he was sent from the Reds to the Diamondbacks as part of a major three-team deal in December 2012.
quote:
22. Will Harris – Cubs. Two years, $18MM. Harris, 35, might be the best MLB reliever you’ve barely heard of, at least until the playoffs this year.
quote:
23. Drew Pomeranz – Dodgers. Two years, $16MM. Most free agent markets have a buzzworthy reliever, and this year it’s Pomeranz
quote:
32. Brett Gardner – Yankees. One year, $10MM. Gardner has been indispensable in his 12-year career with the Yankees, as he just keeps churning out 3-4 WAR seasons.

Josh Lindblom – Astros. Two years, $8MM. Lindblom might be a vaguely familiar name for avid baseball fans or a complete unknown for others.
