Most watched regular season game in 16 years

quote:

Major League Baseball built it, and the fans came.

On Thursday night, the New York Yankees and Chicago White Sox played a game that rivaled Hollywood fairy tales. It was the first official MLB game played in Iowa, in a ballpark built among the Dyersville's corn fields where the iconic 1989 movie "Field of Dreams" was shot.

The game, with its Hollywood ending and its setting within America's heartland, was the most-watched regular season MLB game in 16 years, with 5.9 million viewers across FOX and FOX Deportes.

It was also the most streamed regular season baseball game in FOX Sports history. Chicago and New York ranked as the top two markets.

One game doesn’t change that. It was 100% driven by nostalgia. But I also don’t care what happens to the MLB

Yeah, but I do wish MLB would move to more regions. 24 of the teams are in the NE/West coast. The old model needed physical bodies close because that was the viewing method. Having smaller stadiums in TN, AL, OR, UT, NC etc would spread the teams out.

And then did a throw back to prior to that and had the best ratings in 16 years... It seems to line up exactly with what you're saying.... but you're too dumb to understand that

If I'm the White Sox ownership I demand that the Field of Dreams game is mine and we'll play a different team every year like it's the Cowboys w/Thanksgiving.

This was a 10/10 for MLB, the location was amazing and the game itself as so excellent with the 9th inning drama

Great venue and game. Best sporting event I’ve watched in a long time, and with no political BS.
