So i did some research

Last year there were ~1100 appearances in which a RP faced 1 batter only and wasn't the end of the game.

This isn’t in the OP, but I do like the addition of the winner of the HR derby winning $1 mil.

Will really give incentive to guys like Gallo and Judge to do the derby since they aren’t making much right now.

How many were the end of a half inning?

I don't like the 3 batter minimum, but the other things don't bother me.

I especially like the shortened break between innings.

Now, reduce the time between pitches. Enforce the rules already on the books pertaining to keeping the batters in the box.

When a CBS 2:30 game eats up the majority of my Saturday, it's gets annoying. The commercial-kickoff-commercial after a touchdown is the worst thing in sports broadcasting.

I will miss it, but it makes sense to eliminate.

Good. Ridiculous for the stretch drive to follow such a drastically different rule, and it has gotten way out of hand with teams running through 10 pitchers a game.

quote:

number of pitchers to be carried on a roster will be capped by a number to be decided, will need to declare position at beginning of season, guys can declare as 2-way based on set criteria.

Absurd. Does that mean I can no longer bring by RF in to mop up a blowout?

3 batter minimum for pitchers or to the end of a half inning or injury.

Not a fan. How the heck do you police the "injury" exception on the spot? I might be able to accept a 2 batter minimum, but would rather they just speed up pitching changes. Pitchers don't need 8 warm-up pitches after warming in the bullpen. Give them 90 seconds from the time the manager signals to the pen, then play ball.

Baseball games wouldn't seem so slow if more balls were being put into play.

The 3 batter minimum rule might not make it.

The players union isn’t particularly happy with this change, either. Tony Clark made it clear that the MLBPA did not support the three-batter minimum; MLB implemented that change unilaterally without their backing.

A much better fix would be no warm up pitches on the mound. You just threw 30 in the bullpen. No need for more, especially another 8.

Would have to have a rule stating anyone who doesn't face the 3 batter minimum because of injury is ineligible for the next game or something similar.

I get the argument against the 3 batter minimum and honestly I don’t hate it but I don’t like it either

I would prefer to just see a limit on how many pitchers a team can use in one game. The LOOGY can still exist but you better think hard about when you want to use him because the days of using 7 pitchers in a game would be over.

Couldn't tell, but you'd assume roughly 1/3 or more.

Fact.

I'd be for doing away with kickoffs, just to be able to go TD-commercial-next drive.

Most interesting is going to be the impact this has on the July 31 trade deadline. Potentially, the borderline playoff teams will have to be more aggressive with no option to play wait and see into August. Might drive more bidding wars as well

There's an easy alternative. I usually don't do optional things that annoy me, but that could just be me.

I would say go from 8 to 3. Don't eliminate them completely. At that point, they aren't about the warmup, but about getting the feel of that particular mound on that particular day.

Even as a batter, I wouldn't want them up there just winging it for a few pitches.

So you're saying I should stop doing something I enjoy instead of wanting the product to be better? Weird, but whatever.

How about TD-commercial-extra point-commercial-kickoff-commercial?
