Per ESPN next gen stats, Parsons has a pass rush win percentage of 56% so far this year. That’s the best in the NFL and it’s not close, with both Von Miller and Myles Garrett coming in between 40-45%. If that holds over the course of a season it would be the highest ever since such things were monitored by nearly 10% points. He has 15 pass rush wins himself which is more than 7 entire teams have. He leads the NFL in sacks, QB hits, pressures, pass rush wins, and is the currently the highest rated PFF pass rusher in NFL history to this point in his career. He holds the NFL record for sacks through his first 18 career games.

It’s absolutely stupid what he’s doing

MSB tells me Jerrah Jones shouldn't do drafts and control his organization any longer cause they don't win 3 super bowls in a row any more.

this is one of those times when guys like charles barkley is correct regarding analytics and numbers. way overblown. i don't need some advanced stat sheet to tell me that aaron donald is the best defensive player ever

MP is great, but in terms of impact, there's no comparison

They’ve had 3 playoff wins in the last 15 years. Get the hell out with that.

He should absolutely continue to do drafts and control the organization IMO.

He's incredibly impressive. In a group chat last Sunday after the game I said MP might be the best defensive player in football. You don't even need advanced stats, you can just watch him and he blows you away. Fastest LB I've ever seen and his edge moves are just top notch. Didnt realize he had the most sacks ever through 18 games.

Well Will McClay does most of the drafting nowadays or even Stephen. Give those dudes credit for the Parsons pick.

Dude is a hell of an athlete. He is one of the fastest guys on the field.

But he also has the strength to go 1-on-1 against offensive lineman and win.

Two games into the season. A&M must offer classes in how to claim greatness early in seasons. Note: the aggies have 4 N.C. After 4 Games.

It's legit crazy that they only drafted him because their 2 CB targets went way early

And he was drafted as an off ball LB. They kind of lucked into him being an unbelievable edge rusher.

That's not true at all. They courted him extensively before the draft

One of my colleagues asked me where I'd put him yesterday and I kind of stopped to think about it.

I'm really not sure. On the one hand, OP points out the stats showing he wins the most on his pass rushes in the entire league. On the other hand, he's not ALWAYS lining up as a DE or DT so the OL doesn't know how to account for him on every play.

There are times Parsons ends up lined up against a C or G and that is easy money when he starts 5 yards behind the LOS and has time to make a move. The edge rushers like Miller/Garrett/the Bosas etc. have their hands in the dirt and don't get that advantage. They are always doing it against the more athletic tackles.

McCarthy has said as much

quote:

“I know as an offensive guy… you’re helping me if you can line him up at one position every time,” McCarthy said.

I think he's a different sort of player. I don't want to use hyperbole but kind of a LT type player maybe? No one knows if he ends up as good but that impactful and can get mismatches throughout the game and exploit them

It’s between Parsons and Von

It’s amazing what Von Miller has done for the bills
