Miami has to withdraw from Sun Bowl because of COVID issues, bowl sources told @ActionNetworkHQ . It’s unknown if Sun Bowl can find a replacement to play Washington State, which arrived in El Paso earlier today

This is going to be a crazy week. Dear eight pound, six ounce, newborn baby Jesus, please do not let the playoffs games get affected.

SMU would be the logical choice since Virginia backed out of the Fenway Bowl, but SMU, Memphis, and East Carolina all said their seasons are over since their opponents pulled out of their bowls.

I'm rooting for the playoff or NY6 bowls to be canceled. Maybe that will wake some people up to the idiocy of these covidians who have treated it like the black plague the last 2 years

Nice sarcasm but the Sacramento Mountains just outside of El Paso are a very beautiful area of the country.

Their equipment truck is on the East coast. There's no way they'd get it back to El Paso in time. Same for Memphis in Hawaii and ECU in Maryland. It's just not feasible.

It would be interesting, they already played and lost in the New Mexico Bowl against Fresno State. Can a college play in two bowl games in one season?

Only one of the four teams has the audacity to claim the championship if the games are canceled. The eye test, and all that.

Would never happen. Logistically impossible. Kids and coaches are all over the country right now spending time with family since season has ended. Equipment is being cleaned, sorted, reconditioned and prepared for spring…they’re not going to pull everyone back to El Paso to play a last second bowl game

Boise State is being considered as a replacement team even with the Broncos pledging to the Arizona Bowl. Very interesting developments…

You have to consider who’s already together as a team and who’s not. If Boise declines, the Sun Bowl is probably on its way to be canceled. Broncos are probably already en route to Arizona too, but switching bowls is a bad look.

I just saw an ad on CBS for the Sun Bowl this afternoon. Always liked the Sun Bowl. This sucks.
