I don’t think it’s necessary to go to these lengths to make people ‘aware’. With that said, I’m glad this isn’t just about breast cancer. It’s nice to know that people with other cancers are being recognized.

Sometimes I forget about it for a few minutes, and then I remember why I don’t have a mother anymore.

Agree. I have (had) cancer, am aware of it as is my world class medical/surgical team. We kicked arse on it.

Beyond that......who really needs to be aware as most people know a friend or loved one directly impacted by cancer.

There are societies and associations dedicated to lobbying efforts for cancer awareness, screening, dollars and research.

We get it, cancer can kill your arse. If you have an issue, get to a doctor. Most people are acutely aware of that fact.

Agree with this. Sports are fundamentally entertainment and entertainment usually involves escapism.

I know cancer and disease and war and stuff are real problems society has to overcome, but why is sports the place to do this?

Their heart is in the right place and their intentions are good, but turning sports into a vehicle for advocacy of any type, even advocacy most everyone agrees with, detracts from the pure entertainment value.

No they’re not. The NFL started the pink campaign so they could market to women. It’s all about the $$$$$$

I meant this one specific thing.

The NFL's pink thing was a gigantic marketing scam from the beginning.
