Durant took some horrible jumpshots down the stretch too. He shouldn't get a pass

How many of those "hand check" foul calls do you expect Durant to get 30 feet from the rim like he did this game?

You could blame it on superstar calls, or just sheer stupidity on the defender's behalf. Either way, it was bonkers.

As for Westbrook jacking up shots, that's just what he does. He simply isn't a good shooter, but is downright amazing getting to the paint. The problem is he gets it in his head he needs to stop attacking and instead pulls up for jumpers.

I repeat - he was 10/21 and picked up the slack as Durant had another bad shooting night.

Did I say he played poorly all night? No

Pay attention, I'm talking about the last 5 minutes of play.

None of this matters, Mavs have no pressure to win. Cuban mailed in the season before it even began trying to build toward D Will/Dwight next year. He better win in next 2-3 years bc could have easily repeated

Shouldn't have gone away from Delonte's JJB impression from the 3rd quarter.

If kidd can't hit the set shot 3 the Mavs are in a world of hurt. I assume he'll shoot better in game 4.

Vince Carter sucks, really really bad.

Even though it leaves the mavs down 0-2, I feel better about the chances of 2-2 after 4 tonight then I did after game 1. I think they gave away their chance to win the series by not sealing the deal in game 1, but I still think they've got a really good chance to go to 6-7 in this thing.

The Mavs had better get DWill this summer at least, because if not this whole punt the season strategy is going to really piss me off.

giving JJ the money he got from the timberwolves would have been stupid. He got a championship bonus that was well deserved after a great playoffs, but I'm really glad the Mavs aren't the ones who gave it to him.

Chandler should not have been given up for the pipedream of getting Howard. Chandler is a top 5 true center in this league, and a perfect frontcourt mate for Dirk. I will never approve of letting him get away.

I would have like DSteve, but only for 1 year, and cheap.

Butler got good money from the Clips, good for him.

I'm really only pissed about Chandler. Not giving him a serious contract offer was just not OK.

Don't think they could afford to pay Tyson. Like you said, top 5ish center in the league. That costs money. They wanted money to sign a guy like Deron Williams.

They'll right the ship in Dallas.

All the "Thunder" fans won't know what hit them.

If memory serves they did something insulting like offer him max for 1 year.

I don't know if they should/would have given him the contract the knicks did, but they didn't really try it seemed like. And they didn't just want money for one WIlliams type player, they've made room for two.

I think only Dirk, Marion, Haywood, and Wright are on the books for next year, with Haywood a likely amnesty candidate.

Home court or not, all the pressure is on them to win both of these games. They played pretty well and come out of it with nothing to show. Can't count on Durant playing this poorly again either.

Think of how much the Hornets paid Okafor, who isn't even as good as Tyson.

Good centers cost money. They may have offered him a crappy contract, like you said, but that might have been all they had to offer.

True.

If Durant plays better, that means Westbrook and/or Harden doesn't play as well, IMO.

And Durant isn't just missing shots. He's taking a lot of crappy shots because of good defending. The Mavs don't have anyone to guard Westbrook, and he's taking advantage of that and attacking, just like Harden.

Game 3 will be fun. I expect it to be close, but not come down to the last possession like these two games have.

Don't get me wrong, I understand all of those real world factors, plus his undeniable injury history.

I was just pointing out that he's the only of the "missing pieces" off of last year's squad that really hurts not to have. And it stings even more when you think about the string of bullshite the Mavs have trotted out at Center in the Dirk era with the exception of last year, when SURPRISE! they won the title.
