Maybe he does have a coke problem.
Harvey's story completely different

The night before he went AWOL from the Mets, pitcher Matt Harvey was partying into the wee hours at a Meatpacking District hot spot, sources told The Post. The “Dark Knight” was celebrating a late Cinco de Mayo at 1Oak until 4 a.m. Saturday — just hours before he failed to show up for a game at Citi Field, reportedly because of a “migraine,” sources said. Harvey — who makes $5.1 million and is 2-2 with a 5.14 ERA this season — rolled up on the velvet rope club “with his boys” at about 1 a.m. and settled into a private table, the sources said. The star pitcher threw back a triple play of top-shelf booze, including Armand de Brignac “Ace of Spades” Champagne, Don Julio 1942 tequila and Belvedere vodka, witnesses said. Harvey and his entourage kept to themselves until leaving the West 17th Street club, sources said. What happened the rest of Saturday is the subject of debate — with MLB sources and Harvey’s camp spinning different versions.

Mets manager Terry Collins first noticed his pitcher’s absence as the Amazin’s took batting practice at Citi Field around 4:30 p.m., sources told The Post. Harvey, 28, was not slated to pitch, but was still expected to be at the game, so Collins asked pitching coach Dan Warthen to telephone him. The coach got no answer, baseball sources said. Later, Warthen got a text message from Harvey that said he had migraines and couldn’t make it to the ballpark. The text infuriated Collins, MLB sources said. The Mets sent two security officials to Harvey’s Greenwich Village apartment at about 10 p.m. to check on him, sources said. After the Mets beat the Miami Marlins on Saturday night, a still-fuming Collins met with COO Jeff Wilpon and general manager Sandy Alderson and they agreed to suspend Harvey for three days, sources told The Post. Harvey’s account of Saturday’s events, as told to the website FanRag, painted a different picture. Harvey insisted he felt fine Saturday morning and went golfing — even driving his foursome to and from the course, FanRag reported. The pitcher said a private chef made him lunch, and after that he fell asleep, waking up with a migraine, the website reported. But Harvey claimed he was the first to reach out, sending Warthen text messages between 3 p.m. and 4 p.m., telling him he wasn’t going to make it to Citi Field, according to his camp. The pitcher’s side claimed team security officials knocked on his door at 10 p.m. and Harvey answered wearing pajamas. But Harvey, according to FanRag, said the security men weren’t there to check on his well-being — they grilled him about his whereabouts on Saturday.

He's in the perfect organization for his talents. They're grooming him to be the next Dwight Gooden.

What a dipshit. If you're man enough to go out and get shitfaced, you're man enough to show up to work with a crushing hangover. Especially if you're just going to throw BP or chart pitches.

He's gonna regret this whole ordeal when he gets shipped off to fricking Milwaukee or Cincinnati and can't get lit at 1Oak anymore

Just drink Pedialyte and pop a couple aspirins and eat at Waffle House, like an adult.

Exactly. When I was 28, I stayed out drinking a few times until 4 a.m. and had to be at the office at 9-10 a.m. I managed to do it. It wasn't pretty, but I pulled it off. shite, this dude didn't have to be at the ballpark till the afternoon. That's plenty of time to shite, take a shower, chase Advils with Gatorade, eat something. Hell, he's a big league ballplayer. He could get a massage or an Adderals to help him feel human.

Barstool has been hammering this guy for days, then they found out today that he dropped about 500 bucks in barstool merch a couple months ago and was wearing one of their "Saturday's are for the _____" shirts they just dropped and now they are like shite we gotta defend him a little bit

If Harvey did in fact have a migraine, why would this text make the manager pissed? When I get them I turn off any and everything that makes noise

Do you really think an MLB starting pitcher charts pitches or throws BP in his offday?

I'll be honest. I have no bloody idea what a MLB starter does the day before a scheduled start. From what I read, it not unusual for pitcher to skip showing up at the park the day before a start.
