I thought they were winning when you said it was 4-0. I said they should have had someone walk two guys then bring him in so it would be a save opp. JACKASS

Of all the times I watched him on that pile of dirt, it's the first time I ever saw him display any emotion. I got chills watching that. Wow.

I have enjoyed the entire Mariano farewell tour. It is why sports are so great.
It definitely hit Rivera when he hugged Pettitte. That was a perfect moment.

girardi was all but sobbing

i crused that man so many times, but i always loved to watch him play
My dad took me with him to Game 7 of the 2001 World Series and our seats were lower level down the first base line where the visiting team's relievers run by when called into the game. I will never forget how eerie that stadium got when Mo Rivera came jogging towards the mound with a 1 run lead in the 8th inning. Nobody had much hope at that point.
Luckily it all worked out for us D'Backs fans.
I'm not a big baseball fan but I don't think it gets any classier than that!!!!! Just unbelievable. I can't even imagine how he came to the decision to walk away. That had to be tough. Great man great career just phenomenal.
I grew up hating the Yankees but loving Jeter and Mo. The older I got the more I respected what those guys were able to do and the fact that they all stayed together. Heck, I was pulling for the Yankees all year. It's a really weird feeling to watch these guys you thought were immortal as a kid start to retire. Definitely a changing of the guard and a changing of a generation for someone like me.
