You being from LA and somehow having a Cubs/Bills combination of fandom is more annoying than any bandwagoner jumping to the Heat.

How is it more annoying? At least he stuck with the teams he picked even though they usually aren't good. I'm just clueless as to why he's a Bills fan Does this go back to their 4 SB appearances?

Well he lived there so I guess that's some street cred. But reading between the lines that means he's lived in south LA for at least 2 times that long (probably closer to 3 times that long) coupled with the bonding aspect of our local NFL team, coming together after Katrina to rebuild the region... so um... Saints?

Grew up in Baton Rouge--closest team is Astros.

Meaning that is my favorite team.

2004 and 2005 was a fun time, my last two years at LSU, LSU football was good again, Astros were making a NL Championship Series and WS run. I was hammared alot those falls.

TBS and WGN are the reason for braves and cubs fans in the south.

I developed a love for the Bills when I was young. I still follow what they are doing, but it tailed off somewhere around 2005 or so. Growing up with no real connection to the city just wore on me.

My parents are from Connecticut and I grew up in Mississippi. Having no local connection nor being near those northeast teams my Dad liked left us kids in a wasteland of fandom. Of course, some of that led to bandwagoning as a child, but those teams have mostly stuck since then.

We've all had an appreciation for the Red Sox. My grandfather was a livelong Sox fan born in 1917 and never saw them win shite.

Actually, my Dad is a Yankees fan, my mom's side Red Sox. I think that might be a reason for the divorce. Connecticut is very split on the subject.

First off, frick you.

Second, I met Ron Guidry when I was a kid. He signed a couple of baseballs for me and some of the old school pennants.

He also has a handicapped brother, his parents lived next to some good friends growing up, and Ron would come home and play catch with his brother.

I've been a Yankee's fan ever since.

I'm a Cubs fan because when I was a kid, I played a lot of baseball. And, I usually always was able to watch the Cubs on WGN. It wasn't that I liked them, just that it was baseball on TV. WGN carrying the games meant I watched them, and then it turned into me being a Cubs fan.

What about the Rangers?

Why do you have to live near a team's home field to be able to be a fan?

Where are these "fan rules" listed?

I don't really have a team anymore, I just watch whatever game is on. Used to be an Astros fan but their previous ownership/management really turned me off. I guess I'm still partial to them over anyone else but I don't follow their games like I used to.

One good friend of mine is a huge Yankees fan. That's who his Dad grew up cheering for, I think because of Ron Guidry primarily.

Grew up looking up to various players, particularly Griffey Jr. Watched him when I could and started to like A-Rod. Always liked Jeter, and when A-Rod and Jeter hooked up and Griffey's career had faded, I hopped on the Yankees bandwagon. They have only won 1 World Series since I've liked them , but I actually pull against them in the playoffs against small market teams, particularly the Rays, Diamondbacks, and Marlins.

I am the definition of a bandwagon MLB fan. When push comes to shove, I pick the Yankees above all else, but I always like the underdog when they look competitive. As such, I am pulling for the Orioles this year.

Cards fan. Grandfather was a semi-pro ballplayer, and at the time, St Louis was the farthest South (and West) team in the bigs... and the only one you could catch on the radio. Dad was a Cards fan and so on. It's going to suck now that the Stros are moving to the AL West...
