SC6 is on ESPN. But what difference does it make? It's all the same company. You would boycott ESPN2 but still watch ESPN?

ETA: Saw your edit. Good god, so upset that you're willing to boycott ESPN but you don't even know what channel or what show she's on. Come on, man. Join the rest of us and just tune in for their live sports.

Not really directed at you but you probably can answer it better than most. If people "never watch ESPN except for live sports" how do they know in real time what is happening on ESPN or said on ESPN?

My guess would be TD. There are numerous threads complaining about the latest thing said on an ESPN show or by an ESPN personality.

Hell, choupique is threatening to boycott and he doesn't even know what channel or what show she's on. And he damn sure doesn't follow her on twitter.

i hate trump, and agree that he is unfit to be president, but Hill was completely out of line. She is straight trash. She needs to be fired ASAP, shame on ESPN for not doing so

I agree with all of this. I'm more conservative than you, but definitely think white privilege exists and understand that Trump has done some stupid things.

But some people just love to find anything to bash Trump for, even if it's unfounded. I also don't understand why it's not ok to say Antifa is full of bad people. I mean, I can think white supremacy is worse, but that Antifa still sucks.

My point was the people that start these threads will claim earlier that they never watch ESPN. I do not watch it as much as I used to, most likely due to just not being a junkie anymore, I grew out of that and moved on in my life. I do not get offended by what a paid analyst says usually. It just strikes me odd that people blow a gasket over something that is meant to drive ratings and advertising dollars.

The ratings "loss" to Disney is not concerning or we would see a complete shift in their programming if it concerned them. They got what they want and people watch it.

White privilege is really a misnomer. It's really just "majority" privilege. Exists in every society that's not ethnically homogenous. Difference is, the USA has taken extensive pains the past 60-80 years to level the playing field, as it were, even swinging the pendulum a little too far in the opposite direction (see: affirmative action). The 180 on race relations in this country is nigh unprecedented in modern history. And it's awesome.

Trump does plenty of things I wish he wouldn't. I voted for the man, and to his credit, he's been more ardent in attempting to fulfill his campaign promises than any other president I can remember (admittedly, I'm young enough that my memory doesn't extend prior to the Clinton administration). Wish he'd tone down the Twitter rants and sniping with the mainstream media, but that's part of what got him in the office to begin with, I guess.

I'll never 100% agree with any president unless it's my arse sitting in that chair, probably. That said, it's amazing how quickly anyone who dares put an R by their name is immediately tarred and feathered in the eyes of the virtue signaling general public.

If ESPN fired her I wouldn't blame them. In fact they should. If she wants to get into political commentary she should do so. I think some incidental political commentary from ESPN employees is ok but not what she did (albeit on her twitter).

Wait, so let me get this straight.

This dude is willing to boycott over a person he has no clue what her role is within the ESPN company?

It happened to be on when I turned the TV on.

I saw it passing by in the breaking room.

It was on after that game I watched, and I just left it on.

All the go to excuses when the majority of people who claim these things just like to watch to get their fill of fake outrage. They just don't want you to know they watch SC6.

I used to be laissez faire about this, and make fun of people for caring about the double standard. However, I am worried my attitude and others like me(shel, etc)have allowed the crazies to gain far too much ground. It is truly a slippery slope

Hill is doing a damn fine job for ESPN. This thread is a prime example. People are taking about her and ESPN. Gone are the days of the old SportsCenter.

Yes. But you and me were wrong about the slippery slope angle.

Did we ever get updated ratings on that?

The last I saw was after the 1st 2-3 months. While they were down compared to SC the previous year, every show was down, with many being down by an even larger amount, so it seems they were holding their own.

Though I can see as time goes by after the newness wears off, the ratings continuing to slip.
