I feel bad for Lonzo because he is a good kid and his dad is fricking everything up for him.

I was kind of shocked to learn from the article that lonzo had an agent, manger, and financial advisor, and none of them were lavar. Props to lonzo for recognizing the need to surround himself with competent people.

And his financial advisor is not only on the up and up, but he is running his own audits to find fraud and immediately reporting to Lonzo.

From the article, the financial advisor figured out the issue in October and told Lonzo. Lonzo told his dad in a half-assed way soon after but didn’t press the issue. The financial advisor quit in frustration and only last week did Lavar finally learn the full details. And then within days, Lavar fired the embezzler and now the financial advisor is back.

October is the due date for tax returns that are extended. My guess from reading between the lines was the financial advisor was talking to the tax cpa and they couldn’t figure out what the $1.5 mil was used for and couldn’t ‘expense’ it. So if income, that’s a bigass tax swing.

That’s my interpretation. Beiny a tax cpa for some of these guys is probably a combo of laughable days and drinking during lunch. I’d bet the cpa reported to the financial advisor who reported to Lonzo. He basically said look, I’m not committing tax fraud over this and that’s why he was gonna quit.

Lazar cost his son millions by preventing him from signing with Nike then cost him an additional 1.5 million by hiring his buddy.

It was so f'n stupid to turn down Nike's offer. If he has a lick of sense at all, he would have told his father to kick rocks. Wasn't like a $110 Million or something close to that?

From the article I learned that Lonzo has a personal manager, business manager, financial adviser, and this dude stealing money from BBB... all on top of dumbass Lavar. And they call the family house an “estate” lol

For a dude not even guaranteed to make frick you money on a second contract

Lonzo needs to get away from his loser arse dad and knock up a Kardashian if he wants to make it in LA long term

I hate LaVar as much as anyone, and I have no idea what their financials are but they have done a lot better with BBB then I expected.

I have no idea what he was offered by Nike and I agree those days are in the past unless something changes dramatically with his career. But his family owned something like 80% or more of BBB including his mom and dad, so starting a shoe company and being successful could have easily brought in more than $80 mil. Looks at the dang Kardashian or Jenner girl worth $1 bil now.

And honestly $1.5 mil may be a ton to BBB or it could be nothing. All I’m saying is while I agree this whole situation is laughable it’s also not a singular reason he for sure made a mistake not signing with Nike.
