But D1 is the most difficult championship to win.

25 years prior to split. How many titles for teams in div 1

No div or class is easy

I just looked up my old high school. Broadmoor.

They went 0-10 and were outscored 493 to 18 on the season. They were shutout 7 times. Haha

That is impressive.

That’s just awful. Missing rusty price pretty bad....... that whole area is turning to the Belaire area.... nobody wants to move into that what used to be good a Goodwood area.

But I’m still wondering how Evamgel is in the playoffs at 0-7.

All of the teams in that division qualify for the playoffs.

doesnt make a bit of sense, hell Patterson High went 2-8 at least and not in....

But thats ok. U-High will smoke them.... But I guess my real question is how did talent rich Evangel even go 0-7??

Evangel is “Select.” Patterson is not. The Select divisions have much fewer schools. That’s why you see all of the Byes built into those brackets.

Is it stupid? Absolutely.

Oh I agree... But What happened to Evangel... They seem to always be like 8-2 and such and play a tough schedule... Has the coaching fallen off that bad or is enrollment down, Have they lost their recruiting egde?????

It’s not missing Rusty, it’s charter schools and privates raiding their base

Didn’t go 0-10.... either

That’s completely on Ben Franklin. School administrators choose not to participate in the postseason. They would be in the bracket yearly otherwise.

No, they are not eligible for post season, because they do no play a district, they dint opt out

....which is their choice. Same as other schools in the area opting not to play for district honors (like Grace King). They’d be eligible were it not for the decision made by school administrators.

The original point was, that all schools in the division make the playoffs regardless of their record which is why a winless Evangel team is in the bracket. Obviously there are a few exceptions such as this.

Broadmoor.

Damn, seems like yesterday we were in the state finals in the dome against Hahnville. I know that was really 25+ years ago, but still sad to see how far it's fallen

It’s Acadiana’s to lose

Fuk that says the rest of the group is bad. Saw Acadian against catholic and third string QB. They sucked badly.

That was my thought. Maybe they could go to 8 teams just to clean up the bracket.

There are have been some serious talks among select schools about reforming the divisions to make it much more equitable. The authors of the original split didn’t care about the effect on the select schools. The selects just recently got the power to redivide themselves without public school input.

Nonsense. Broadmoor has absolutely zero support for anything from its community. They have maybe 5-6 people in the stands for varsity games. People will do anything and everything to not go to Broadmoor.
