It is pretty well known that Spolestra has been considered a top 5 coach for years now.

He’s already one of the best coaches in the game. It’s a shame he hasn’t been more respected on this board until recently.

He's definitely in that conversation already. I think he'd edge out Stevens right now for that fifth spot

Lakers have the two best players but both Clippers and Heat could make it a very entertaining series
Both have a lot of depth
The Heat have made this bubble and playoffs look easy and they are sitting back and resting

The next round for the Heat will be a great series.

Switch Kerr with Spo and I’m cool with it.

Little too early to tell with Nurse but his first 2 years have been amazing.

Kerr is top 5. I can see easily see Spo taking Nurse's spot just because he's been in the game a lot longer as a head coach.

Remember Kerr took a league-average team, tweaked a few things, and turned them into a team that obliterated the league and changed basketball.

Kerr didn’t do shite but let Steph finally get healthy and enter his prime.

The dude missed the first third of the season they went 73-9 and they started the year 24-0 with Luke Walton.

Kerr is the luckiest SOB in the game

They were also 51-31 in Mark Jackson’s last season. Wouldn’t say they were just an average team.

As you know, being a coach involves way more than just installing a system and sitting back and watching it go.

Or in Kerrs case, not even being present for the first couple of months and they still have the best regular season without him.

That team in its prime was going to be good no matter who was there. I’ll admit Kerr did change a couple of things but I don’t see how him being gifted 3-4 all stars makes him an elite coach.

That’s like all these analysts thinking Tyron Lue is some hot coaching candidate bc he “won a title and went to 4 straight”. Everyone knows he only did that because of Lebron and they were in the east.

Of course. Seems like this is something that Kerr has obviously excelled at though. Sure he's had a few moments of wtf lineups but what coach hasn't? From managing egos, picking out his assistants, getting guys through trades or FA, etc. he's been one of the best in the league at it.

So you must not think too highly of Phil Jackson. Inheriting talent doesn't always lead to success. Hell, Spo had the Heatles and got waxed by Dallas and San Antonio.

I don't think Lue is a good or great coach, but I don't think he gets enough credit for managing things that went on in Cleveland.
