FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft has pleaded not guilty to solicitation charges.

In a court filing, Kraft's attorneys have requested a non-jury trialAuthorities say Kraft visited a Florida massage parlor for sex acts on the morning of the AFC Championship Game, which he attended in Kansas City later that day.

According to documents released by the Palm Beach County State Attorney's Office on Monday, it was Kraft's second visit to the parlor in less than 24 hours.

The documents say Kraft arrived at the Orchids of Asia Day Spa in a chauffeured 2015 blue Bentley at 11 a.m. on Jan. 20. He was videotaped receiving oral and manual sex from a woman at the spa in Jupiter. Officials say he gave her a $100 bill and another bill before leaving at 11:15 a.m.

The AFC Championship Game against the host Chiefs kicked off at 6:40 p.m. ET. Kraft, who is also the owner of the New England Revolution of MLS, was in attendance.

Kraft, who also was seen soliciting prostitution on video surveillance just 17 hours earlier on Jan. 19, was officially charged with two misdemeanor counts of first-degree solicitation, Palm Beach County State Attorney Dave Aronberg announced Monday.

A court date was initially set for 8:30 a.m. ET on April 24 but has since been moved to March 27 at 8:30 a.m.

Kraft, 77, will have a "low level" arrest warrant issued in his name -- similar to a traffic ticket -- and he will not need to appear in court. Kraft has hired Jack Goldberger of firm Atterbury, Goldberger & Weiss to represent him in the process.

If convicted, Kraft could face one year in jail, a $5,000 fine, 100 hours of community service and attendance in a human trafficking dangers class.

In a statement Friday, when the nature of the charges was first announced, a spokesperson for Kraft said they "categorically deny that Mr. Kraft engaged in any illegal activity."

as expected - no one should ever admit to guilt

Seems like a bad way to make this go away.

I'm no lawyer, but can't he plead no contest and quietly pay a bunch of money so this disappears?

Not like he has to worry about a record, dude's rich as hell and it's not like people will care too much about it from a reputation standpoint

This is not true.

There are incredible plea deals offered every day in this country for cases with insurmountable evidence that make a ton of sense to agree to.

Or what if there is a scenario (not this one) where the deal is pleading guilty and turning state's witness for no jail time or punishment? That wouldn't be a good time to plead guilty?

Its not like this guy ever needs to worry about getting a job or employers finding out.

For sure he's fine obviously in life with whatever happens, but I felt like from a PR perspective as a public figure and association with the NFL that he'd like this to disappear as quickly as possible.

Especially if they actually have videos of him getting blowjobs from victims of sex trafficking.

ya I would have pleaded guilty, paid the 10-20k in fines and be done with it.

What he did is so small compared to the main focus of the bust - the business owners

Plus their criminal court system has way more better things to adjudicate and allocate state funds to than this, funds are finite resources, I suspect this matter will be concluded by plea agreement because Kraft has the resources to take this all the way to the state Supreme Court if found guilty and that'll cost the state a butt ton of money.

Total transaction time of 15 minutes. Hmmm.

you don't know what the da has offered, which is probably nothing at this point.

The fact he requested a non jury trial means his lawyer is looking at some technicality.

Most likely this gets stalled a couple times and then on the day of trial, his lawyer will go into the backrooms with the da and judge and the lawyer will agree to pay court fees in lieu of charges being dropped. prob also agree to donate some money and do some volunteer work that will never be done.

yep I haven't seen the states definitions of these crimes but these charges will prob be dropped or altered pretty soon.

Min sentence is 10 days, max sentence is 1 year

Kraft will never see sentencing tho. Likely pleas down to a fine or community service or something like that.

I bet he didn’t solicit. I bet he went in and she got to work and then he paid. No agreement as to what was going to happen. He is not guilty.

They don't follow min sentence stuff

More likely to drop charges and pay court costs. They rarely care about community service. Doesn't help the court. The legal team has leverage with technicalities here, so they won't go with plea bargaining.
