Khalil Tate says he purposely tweeted so Arizona wouldn't hire Navy’s Ken Niumatalolo

"I knew exactly what I was doing when I tweeted that out," Tate told Bleacher Report. "I don't do Twitter. When I tweet something, I download the app, tweet, then delete the app from my phone. So when I tweet, it's important."
quote:
"I had to make sure I was heard, make sure the team was heard, because my teammates didn't want to run the triple option, either," Tate continues. "So the idea was to tweet it out, let it get traction, then delete it. I knew people reading it would say, 'Why did he delete it?' But that just magnifies it more."

Sadly this is pretty much everyone on twitter's mindset

Did he misspell triple on purpose too?

so he took the time to download the app, make it all important, but doesnt know how to spell triple?

That triple option at Navy would beat Arizona’s arse lol . Arizona almost lost to Grambling , they would have if Kincaid didn’t get hurt .

The ironic thing is that he said something like "being a Heisman candidate is awesome" and he would have been the frontrunner playing for Niumatalolo.
Hopefully other ADs and presidents don't follow this lead though. Let the adults make the decisions.

He just came to Arizona to run the zone read triple option

I mean I kinda dont blame the kid here
He was all pac-10 honorable mention as a sophomore and a big 4 star recruit
If they hire Niumatalolo he can kiss his career at Arizona behind or his NFL career behind, but he would be forced to make the choice which sucks

Yeah now he gets the pleasure of playing in a Noel Mazzone offense instead

Soon after, Tate began speaking to Arizona athletic director Dave Heeke on a regular basis about the coaching search. Tate says Heeke would meet with candidates and then get Tate's thoughts.
Yea this needs to not become a normal thing. Players do not need to become decision makers. These players will only be there 3-5 years. These coaching decisions will affect the school long past when they graduate.

Ha that’s definitely what he’s been selling on the recruiting trail I’m sure
