He never was the real MVP anyway.

I think he was making a joke in reference to KD's acceptance speech.

Yeah KD will remove some KD the pressure from the others, but again, they were already incredibly efficient. KD is great but on that team, in that offense, I think he ends up making the Warriors marginally better. In essence, he's great at something that the Warriors already excel.

The good news is the Warriors only need to be marginally better when the other contenders are getting worse.

I think the real issues may come next summer though.

They don't have his bird rights and can't do a sign and trade, so even with the cap expanding, things could get tricky I'd think.

It's going to be fun. Like I mentioned earlier, if they lose Curry and Durant might go separate ways... if they win LeBron and CP3 and others form another super team.

Other than burning another year of his career, was there some reason KD had to jump now? Did he just panic that the window wouldn't be open to join GS next year? It just seemed natural to give it one more year in OKC given how close they were.

This year was the only window to join GS.

If he doesn't go there, they more than likely re-up Barnes, which would then mean Durant to GS next season is a no go.

No point in waiting a year, there isn't going to be a better scenario than this GS squad for him next season, so he jumped on this opportunity.

I think this will be a great test of where diminishing returns actually come into play in the NBA. I find it pretty fascinating from a management standpoint.

I also think it helps put the Warriors' regular season in perspective. The Warriors just added the third best player in the NBA, they'll have 2 of the top 3, 3 of the top 12ish, and 4 of the top 15ish and it will still be incredibly unlikely they'll top 73 wins. Let that sink in for a moment.

Yep. they'll also rest players.

It'll matter more in the playoffs IMO, when bench minutes are greatly reduced.

i think with the fatigue shown at the end of the regular season and playoffs, Kerr will be resting his boys.

73 won't be broken.

he said that the SF bay area is a place where he can grow as a person.

Berkeley/ SF > than Okie City.

It would not be fair to the Okies to list the ways the SF Bay area is superior culturally and in opportunities to OKC.

Let me also say that I really hate the fact that Joe Lacob is going to think he's a genius when he's actually just been the most incredibly lucky GM maybe ever. He didn't get Curry or any others on some shrewd deal or make some crazy value plays and trades. They've drafted well and ended up with a superstar who made a jump we've literally never seen that late in a career. We'll see what kind of front office they have when shite gets real next summer.

I have heard plenty of people skewer durant for this move so hopefully the fan boys of lebron can calm down that 2 min after decision they havent saw anything negative.
I really dont think people would have minded lebron leaving it was the whole decision show on self proclaimed king that turned people off. He would have caught backlash but not nearly like he did with that show. Yez he raised money but even he admits it was not best way to handle it...that and the peprally before first game talking about 6.

So it is slightly different. I was rooting for durant to go there..i dont like or dislike golden state but i want to see how it turns out. When Malone and gp went to Lakers it was a done dealntue league was fricked and it didnt turn out that way..age played a factor im sure but now we get a prime top 3 player joining a loaded team...i cant wait to see if they figure it out.

Stephen A is just butt hurt because only Lebron is supposed to be allowed to do that and because next years Warriors might win 80 games.

Nah, he's mad because he threatened(literally) KD on national television for KD calling him out on the LAL rumors, then KD didn't even take a visit with LAL, and that pissed off Stephen A, so he decided to rail against KD.

The threat was bullshite, KD should take a few steps towards him next Warriors game and see if Stephen flinches.

Well to be fair KD was that guy once upon a time when he was trash talking to D12 while out for the season.
