Why? Who’s teaching these wide receivers to do this? I don’t particularly remember seeing this in past seasons

I think it is because they want the instagram worthy, spectacular catch when it simply isn't needed. Ego.

Maybe he feels more comfortable catching the ball at a certain spot on his body. That jump didn't mess up his catch. Kirk is stupid.

It does though (we’ve seen it all season) and it absolutely messes up the flow of getting up the field ampost catch.

I just think development is taking a hit with transfer portal craziness. One of the worst offensive years in memory.
