Josh Allen Combine Coach Ryan Flaherty Says Wyoming QB Can Throw Ball 90 Yards
quote:

If sports performance coach Ryan Flaherty is to be believed, Wyoming quarterback Josh Allen is going to turn plenty of heads at the NFL Scouting Combine.

"Josh Allen has one of the most incredibly gifted arms I've seen in my life and I've been around a lot of quarterbacks," Flaherty said on NFL Network on Thursday (via Michael David Smith of Pro Football Talk). "He'll break the record miles per hour here at the combine. He’ll go high 60s. I think the record’s 66 or something. I think he’ll go 69, 70 miles an hour. And just wait until his Pro Day. He’ll throw the ball 89 or 90 yards."

Pro Football Talk noted Allen would break the combine record if he did reach 70 mph with his throw.

Irrelevant, not just about arm strength, it's about adjusting well to the NFL, leading an offense, learning a massive playbook, studying, being accurate and being tough when hounded by the front 7 no ifs ands or buts

Jamarcus could reportedly throw it 100 yards.

Goddamn what could've been.

Arm strength alone does not make a QB.

If it did, Kyle Boller and JaMarcus Russell would still be in the league.

John Elway could sling the ball but he also picked up a lot by being a coach’s kid.

But chicks and GM’s dig it, so no reason to worry about the other stuff.

Worthless accolade. When would you ever need to throw a 90 yard pass?

Allen would be a perfect pick for the NE Patriots, if BB is still there for another 5 years. He could let him sit for a couple of years to watch and learn under Brady, and fill in his game with that long ball.

I'm not sure, with his accuracy issues, that going some where and being a starter right away is the best fit for him, not will he improve enough to be a good QB.

It's not his fault scouts are drooling over him, but he would of been better pick in late first for some one to have sit and learn.
