I would love to see the dismantling of the NCAA.

So would I but it will probably never happen.

They play the bad cop role well to help the colleges keep the athletes under thumb.

But the NCAA sure did its best to kill the one program in the nation that ruined the ESPN-SEC's supremacy.

Yeah, I'm sure the NCAA brought down USC because they want the likes of Alabama to dominate football.

USC got killed because Mike Garrett pissed off the NCAA. Not fair, but it's the truth.

I was under the impression that it was sort of a compromise between the two.

I'm thinking that, as per usual, the NCAA was too incompetent to prove the obvious, and so they basically told A&M to make it look like they handled it and they'll leave them alone. Could be way off, but it wouldn't surprise me at all.

You can actually buy the photo the NCAA is using in the article to announce Manziel's suspension. You can't make this up.

1 half? Really?

Wow. Oh well. Not sure it will really matter for A & M fans. They lose 4 games even if he does play. Bama is gonna smoke them Sept 14th.

Well since they're not suspending players for profiting off their image anymore maybe it's not hypocrisy.

Why are people outraged? I find it quite funny actually that he was suspended half a game.

Same here. But Tennessee doesn't play A&M this year.

Seems to me that most people here are actually more or less taking Manziel's side on this.

Yeah, he's guilty as hell but the NCAA can't prove anything so either show the proof and hammer him or let him play without any BS "symbolic" restrictions.

The NCAA (which is hated universally here) wants to pin him as a rules violator but doesn't want to do any work in showing that.

They could but why would they? It's not like the conferences are in any hurry to get the athletes in on the pie and the NCAA does a great job of being the bad guy.

Well, I guess they found him "Just a little bit guilty" so they gave him a "Little bit of punishment".

aTm can't be proud of that.
